I have to say that I had mine taken out about 15 years ago and DID have troubles with diarrhea.

UNTIL I had my RNY Surgery.  Since my RNY sugery I take 2 stool softeners a day which now keeps me regular - so after surgery the diarrhea disappeared.

I think you'll be fine!

Good luck and let us know how you do!!

I had my gallbladder removed about 10 yrs ago and I had very little pain afterwards....just normal tenderness around the incisions and some muscle soreness.  I was back to work in 2-3 days and don't remember needing much pain medicine at all.  I did have problems with diarrhea until my RNY and now it seems to have resolved.

I was expecting my RNY surgery to be as easy on me as my gallbladder surgery (because they were both done laparascopically) and I was completely wrong!  The RNY surgery was WAY more painful than the gallbladder was (at least for me).

Good luck with your surgery Monday.  This one should be much easier on you.

I had mine out 2 years ago just where you are. It was a pretty good experience. They even numbed my arm for the IV so I wouldn't be in pain at all. I had great people watching me.

I saw the OR for about a minute before I was knocked out, then after that I woke up and went home soon after. I haven't had any problems with diarhea either.

I took my pain pils for 2 days but never really felt like I had to; I just was scared to miss it and start hurting. I hope it goes as well for ou as it did me.
