I had several stones pre-op, but have had none post-op. I work with at least 8 people that are post-op and none of us have had kidney stones post-op. Kidney stones seems to come mostly in people that drink a lot of pop and not enough water.

There is pain all the time. A lot of people that only have pain when urinating are either passing a stone, or possibly a UTI. If you are having problems now, maybe you should see a DR. and get a diagnosis of all the symptoms.

Jeanna,

I'm almost 5 yr post-op and I haven't had them..and I usually get whatever complication that can be gotten. I haven't heard of anyone getting them either. I don't know where you heard that it is more likely post-op but I personally don't think there is much evidence of that. Now..several people have had to get their gall bladder out and many of those had gallstones. That has more to do with obesity than with WLS though.
