Ok....figured out that it wasn't dumping I had in the hospital after all, I am lactose intolerant and the whey protein stirs it up.  I talked to the dietician at Clarian yesterday and she told me I can have whey products as long as they are mixed in with lactaid since that contains the enzyme needed to help me digest food correctly.  So I have been doing that since yesterday and it is working.  The problem....I am sick of the sweet tasting shakes already (I was not a sweets person before surgery either, I am a carb addict girl)...so I can't have any of the fruity flavored proteins that mix with water, everything has to mix with lactaid, tried a nectar accidentally yesterday, got 2 sips in and I started up, forgot it had whey protein in it).  Any suggestions to liven things up?  I think once I can get some food in, like oatmeal, etc I can tolerate the shakes more, but for now, the shakes are where I get most of my protein in.   I am using carnation instant breakfast, body fortress vanilla, and some chocolate flavored nectar samples right now....a friend of mine did give me some pb2 yesterday to try and help mix in, it did help some.

Thanks!

Oh Sabrena - try the Unjury Chicken soup - order some samples, they come really quick and it is 21 grams of protein per cup.  I had some yesterday.

If you would like I can get a couple to you to try if you would like.  It is just a warm chicken broth.

Call me and let me know.

Where do you get unjury soups? I am getting tired of sweet taste too. I am enjoying nave beans and cottage cheese because of the salty flavor. Thanks, Wendy

Can you switch to a soy protein?

I agree with the Soy protein or you can even try an egg white protein. I had the hardest time with whey and soy proteins for a long time and had to try that.

Sabrena,

I got to the point with my intolerence after about 2 1/2 weeks cottage cheese and yogurts were out too...  Anything with milk did me in so keep that in mind.  ALSO, after a couple of months I was able to drink Milk again without any problem.  I was able to use the nectar though - go figure!

Huggs,

I couldn't drink milk for about a year.  I used the Lactaid milk and the Lactaid tablets.  Try taking the Lactaid chewable tablets with your fruity drink, maybe that will keep the hounds at bay.  You can get them at almost any grocery store.
