Pammy,  I just want to tell ya,... I love ya girl and hope this all gets resolved. 

I was working for someone who discriminated against a couple of us in the department and actually covered up sexual harrassment for the only male in the department.  So, life sucks sometimes... but chin up... keep  that smile and be yourself.  You are a winner and she is a jealous winch and he is a coward.

Pam, I hate to hear what you're going through. They are making it difficult. I do want to warn you about AFLAC. I asked the AFLAC reps. during the sign up period if you could use it for WLS. I was told by them that they won't cover it for a planned surgery. They said it was more for accidents and such. I decided not to take policy out. I had paid into it for an entire year and didn't see a dime of it so I let it go. I just think it's something you should definitely check out as I'd hate to see you count on that money only to have it denied. I hope everything works out for you. Duane

Remind them of the hippa act. They can not invade your privacy. They will be breaking the law. Darn these bullies!!! Wendy

What everyone has told you, I agree with.  Obesity is a disease, and it is covered under the Americans With Disabilities act.  Tell your HR person that if they DON"T assist you in getting your FMLA papers, or your intermittent medical leave papers filled out correctly, that your lawyer and the surgeon's and hospital's lawyers will be contacting their office lawyers.  The ADA covers EVERYTHING, even something as small as paperwork and improper actions toward employees.  If, even after threatening them with a lawsuit over this, and they don't budge, take ALL of your vacation time, and then take an extra few WEEKS off.  Make sure you get your dr's. orders, and then a release.  If they fire you for taking too much time after surgery, draw unemployment and enjoy getting away from those ********  You deserve so much more, and don't need or have to put up with that crap!  Good luck!
