Thank you to all of you!  I just needed a pick me up!  I am hoping to meet with her in the next month or so and I'll keep you all posted on my progress.

Just a note my insurance CIGNA would NOT cover a DS they would only cover the band and RNY the excuse they used was it was to experimental at this time.  So make sure you check with your insurance to see if they will cover it before you get your hopes up on having the DS.

Good idea.  I just emailed my insurance company to check and see.

I had CIGNA, too, and they initially denied me for the DS stating experimental, but I fought them for the DS and won.  They did end up paying for it.  CIGNA has since changed their policy and they will cover the DS if you have a BMI over 50.  But even those people who have a lower BMI can fight CIGNA and win.  It takes a lot of diligence, but it can be done.  I'm living proof!

My insurance (Welborn Health Plans) does cover the DS Surgery, it's just listed as something different on the rider.  Woot.

I am going to Dr. Inman, hopefully to get the DS. I also have WHP and since i am just now going through the 6 month medically monotored weight loss. I am worried abt whether or not WHP covers the DS. i was very happy to read in your post that they do, it's just called something else in the rider. what is it called, do you remember? I also noticed in your post you said you have WHP however it then says you now have anthem. Do you have anthem because WHP didnt cover the DS?? anyhow - I'd really really appreciate any info you could pass my way. I have called WHP but they are kind of worthless and have not been able to tell me anything for sure.
