WAITING ON ANTHEM TO APPROVE?

Information was sent to Anthem a week ago..wondering how long if anyone had to deal with them did it take to get approval on Surgery?

My info was sent into the insurance company this past Tuesday, March 10 and I was told to call them in a week to check to see if they got the paperwork and see what the status is of my approval process.  I do not have Anthem, but this is what i was told by Amy @ Dr. Jones' office @ St. Vincent

Keep us updated on your process!  I wanna compare notes... see if we get approvals about the same time, and surgeries scheduled about the same time.

i have the same ins. it takes about 5 wks. you feel like thet have forgotten then they will send you a letter hangin there

i was also told to stay on top of my insurance company and basically let them know that you have NOT forgotten and will keep on them until somethings accomplished one way or another...
if you don't have anyone to advoate for you...then adovate for yourself!!!

keep calling them weekly until they get tired of hearin from ya and you will soon get a determination one way or another...

be careful... Dr. Evanson office email my paperwork to anthem...several times.  Anthem kept saying that didn't receive it.  I finally got a name and fax from anthem and had Dr. Evanson office fax and email... I finally got approved from the fax....

Follow up with Anthem...hound them if you need to.

i thought i would give it thru the weekend and if no letter call Evansons office Monday and find out when they mailed to Anthem. THEN i will call and hound. Thanks for the tip! 

Stay on top of the Insurance company, if not they sometimes like to drag their feet.  I would call them to make sure they have received everything, and then call then 2-4 times a wee****il you get an answer.

i have anthem, it took 2 weeks to find out if i was approved,  call them after two weeks.
