The biggest loser program
We have aprogram starting in our county its called the biggest loser, for the most part it is a version of the tv show but you dont win the money.
Anyways i filled the app out before i found out when and if i was having the hysterectomy.
It consists of seeing a nut and a trainer and a doc and etc you have meetings and etc 3 days a week and a weekly weigh in,on the app i told them about my having the gastric bypass and i thought this could be a help to get off the rest of the weight.
Well yesterday i got the call they are only taking 50 and i had been chosen as one of the 50.
Daggone it i told him i couldnt and that for 4 weeks or more i would be limited and he says honey you could do light exercises and im sure you will still be losing thats all and good.
But there will be 25 people on a team and i dont want to hold them back so he wants me to check with my doc and see what he says.
So what do you all think(my doc is out of town til Teusday) with just the hysertectomy i would say okay ,but its the being cut from side to side to take the excess skin off that scares me not to push to much.
I think i could do treadmill and light exercise.
He just didnt wonna give up on me and for that im grateful so i told him maybe next time but he says to come to the meeting on the 1st and decide would you try it? but im so afraid afraid of holding the others back.
I said as soon as he told me we would weigh in weekly do i have to wear a sports bra a nd shorts to get weighed in cause if i do there is no way.
He laughed at that i feel honored to be chosen and i could use the help pushing my butt to move more. He says alot of counties in Indiana are doing this program so you might check yours
Thanks all

I think it's a good idea that you check with your doctor before you join this, but I'm sure if you can do it that you'll be successful. You've done so well so far and it's good that you're looking for ways to keep the weight coming off. I have to say that these "biggest loser" clubs are very successful. My brother-in-law is running 2 of them in Lake County and was interviewed on the radio recently about the programs and the success of the members. No matter what happens just stay positive and you will succeed.
On another note...we share an anniversary. My surgery was February 18, 2008 too. I'm doing pretty well. Last time I weighed myself was about 7 weeks ago and I lost 88 lbs. I'm hoping I'm closer to 100 lb. weight loss, but I don't see my surgeon until next week. I don't own a scale and don't want one...they are my downfall. I only weigh in when I see the doctor. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good loss. Take care!

Lisa,
I think it will all depend on what all is done internally. When I had my hysterectomy, they found that a couple of things had switched places (tailbone & uterous maybe...???) and they put them back where they belongs and stitched them in place using the muscle in my butt cheek. Man! That sucker hurt for WEEKS! So..I wouldn't be near as concerned at how long the incision is than what they are doing while they are in there. When I had my plastics, my hip to hip didn't hurt at all. My insides from the abdo did though.
I agree that it wouldn't hurt to go to the meeting. It's after you have your surgery...right? You'll know more on how well you are able to move by then. Just be honest with your fellow teammates and tell them that you'd understand if they wanted some other lucky person to be #25.

ps..when is your surgery? I know it's soon, but I can't remember the date.
