Hi Everyone, Well I did get a bit of an update from Dr. Huse's office this week. Renee called and said she was writing letters to get approval from my insurance company as well as writing a letter to my pcp to get my medical records and a letter of abstinence sent to her so she can submit everything to medicaid. I am just chomping at the bit to get this thing approved and get on the losing side. I have been contemplating bariatric surgery for years and have gone through the testing once before but chickened out. I now have a determination to get this surgery and get my health back. In the last year I have been diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure and many of these things and others run in my family. I am so ready to regain my health and live the life I deserve to live. I am still planning to have my surgery at the conclusion of this semester so sometime in mid to late may or early june...whenever I can get it approved and scheduled. I really enjoy reading everyones posts on the board, I don't post much because I'm pre-op and don't have much to say but you all are so encouraging and helpful and I really appreciate all the knowledge and experience you all offer. Can't wait to be a member of the club!

Hi Stephanie! Glad to see you post!!! Honey, you ARE a member of this club! You don't have to be post-op to be part of our family here...just obese at one time or another. Isn't it funny? Never thought that those 'few extra pounds' would ever qualify you for something so cool as a terrific, supportive family, huh? I'm having surgery Monday to repair a hernia (long story). Some of us are getting together at Ryan's (eastside of Indy) Sunday night at 5 pm. If you & your hubby/family would like to join us, we'd love to meet you! I have a post on here about it 'last supper'. Let me know if you'd like to come & if you need directions. If you want to come by yourself..I don't know if Linda Vicory is contemplating coming or not, but she's from TH too and I'm sure wouldn't mind car pooling. Can't wait to meet you! Sherri

My sister had surgery 8 years ago.. I watched her shrink...I filled out the paperwork and it scared me to death just the questions they were asking.. Then 3 years ago. I said I am ready for this!! I had my surgery and am soo glad I did!! I haven't EVER had as many friends as I do now.. just being on this board and meeting these nuts every once in a while is really a second family.. Large or small pre-op or post op.. family is family.. and dog gone it these people will come thru for ya. Prayers, hugs or a gentle scolding.. they react just like family..They make you feel special when you need to. Welcome aboard and post the only way to get the support you need.We wont hound your email so you have to reach out to us!! Linda Kay
