I'm gonna try to talk Rich into moving closer to Indy... I really want to be closer to the St. V's support groups and everything else. Plus I love the "city" life most the time. I grew up in big cities (Baltimore, MD mostly but moved to Florida a few times and Louisville, KY before IN) and this small town stuff is good but I'm ready to live a little closer to life that doesn't shut down at 9 pm lol. The jobs and just everything is more plentiful up there!!!! Am I just crazy or what?? heh

I totally understand!  I lived in Fort Wayne for ten years until moving to Bloomington a year and a half ago and I miss the bigger city.  Bloomington is still good sized (especially compared to Seymour!) and I cannot imagine living in an even smaller town!  I grew up in a small town, so I see the benefits of the quieter living, but for me, I like the convenience and hub-bub of a bigger city!

The thing is it's like I LOVE the idea and I know this is gonna sound crazy but i love the idea of having public transportation if needed (buses especially, I used to ride the buses in louisville sometimes just for the fun of it but i had a monthly pass and could do that) and stuff. The people you meet are just awesome and interesting.  I used to ride the bus home everyday from work and sometimes take it to work and I got to know a lot of people. Especially on the way home it was usually the same people every day and it got to the point where we started giving Christmas cards to each other and everything. It was just neat. Right now we barely even have taxi cabs if you have car problems or something and theyre ridiculous. I mean 6.50 for 2 miles ridiculous.

I don't think so. I would love to live in Indy, but it's just not in the cards for us in the near future.

Hehe DH has never been out of Seymour or Salem to live so it should be interesting if it happens. I wanna go back to school so bad and the nearest community college to us is still 30 mins away, plus I want a bigger choice of doctors and stuff to chose from. This small town is trying to act like it's big city now (they think its big because we have a Starbucks and all now) but in all honesty it's still just small.

Misty, I lived in small towns most of my life. I lived in Clinton (which is near where Linda V. lives) for about 17 years...it was all my kids knew. When we moved to Indy, my daughter was in awe of parking garages! Hahaha!!! Anyway, I love Indy. I have no desire to ever go back to a small town. In fact, we are looking forward to when I can retire and us move to a even bigger city....Las Vegas! And I agree, there's alot to be said for a larger job market & public transportation! Clinton had ONE TAXI...and no buses! Unless you had a college degree and a ton of luck (to get on at the power plant or Lilly's), if you worked in town, it was at WalMart, a gas station, a restaurant, or a nursing home. Sherri

I grew up a small town girl and now I am a city girl. I prefer the small town but the city does have it's pro's. You have a bigger choice where shopping is concerned. You also have more choice for a social life. I was born and raised in Chesterton and that is what I want to go back to. The problem with that is Chesterton is getting big now too. I want the town back that was the one I grew up in and no matter where I go I am not going to get it. It is hard living in a time so different from when you grew up. Oh to have the time 50 years ago!!!! lol

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Gosh I am such a small town gal.  I can't stand traffic.  I get so nervous when I drive in Indy.  Even Evansville makes me a bit nervous.  I love going to the bigger cities especially when someone else is driving.  It's nice to go to the malls and restaurants and such but I love my small town.  We have a lot of agriculture here.  We have a lot of horses and cows.  A lot of deer and raccoons.   Now don't get me wrong.  We have a lot of industry here too.  We just don't have the hustle and bustle of the big towns.  It has its ups and downs. I have family in Indy and i love to .visit there. I love it at nite with the lights a nd tall buildings. We live in between 2 casinos but its still a small town but everyday something new goes up(which sadly means something old comes down). But i agree MISTY the thought of catching a bus would be great.
