Snowy Thursday Morning

Mornin' my Indiana Posse! BRRRRRRRRRRRR its cold outside....hope y'all are staying warm and toasty! I am getting out later to have lunch with mom and sis and doing some shopping at Wally world...BIG day today...LOL small town excitement!  LOL I LOVE IT!  I do not miss the hustle and bustle of Houston! Trying tofigure out what to have with pork cutlets tonight....not a real big pork eater so have to disguise it someway!  LOL  I know...I should love pork..I am a pig farmers kid!  LMBO  OH WELL... Thanks to my secret angel for the card...my sentiments exactly! hugggggggggs I have a job interview on Saturday mornin so would y'all please pray for me to get it or one of the other 2 I am sending a resume in for! I really need a job with gas prices the way they are...hubby works about 40 miles from home...and I miss working and being out there in the public!   well hope y'all have smiley days! hugggggggggggs Janene

Well I would always put sweet peas in the pan used to do the cutlets and get the fond off the bottom for the flavor. Of course the cutlets where browned on the stove and finished in the oven. America test kitchen has a great broccoli pan seared recipe. Sweet potato has become a real favorite cut in wedges and oven fry. Oh well enough of that. E

 

Good morning! Bill's outside scraping the windows of my truck. He has to be at Dr. Price's (eye doc) at 10:15 or we'd stay cozy & warm until tonight. Ah well..we'll brave the cold! LOL! It's a shame the appointment wasn't tomorrow morning or we could meet Misty for lunch (Dr. Price is at 93rd & Meridian). I hope someone is able to meet her though...It sure would make that long drive home a little better, huh? Janene..have you tried the Rice-a-roni rices? I'm pretty sure they are long-grain...so healthier for you. With everything shooting through me right now, my hypoglycemia is pretty much taking a hiatus so I've been able to enjoy things like rice. In fact, rice is one of the things the visiting nurses told me to eat alot of to try to help with the bowel issues. Anyway, I absolutely love their cheesy rice! It reminds me so much of mac & cheese. Since I can't handle much pasta anymore, it tastes like heaven to me!  Talk to you all soon..time to hit the road! Sherri

Good Morning everybody....Today is Bella's 3rd birthday. Woo hoo! I took the day off to have fun with her. I pick up her Barbie Birthday cake at NOON. Yikes, I have birthday cakes made at Sweet Seductions her in Camby. Paige does an Unbelievable job. I usually order them 3-4 weeks in advance because she is always busy. So today Bella and I are picking up her Birthday cake and going to the library, Going shopping, I did not get her a "present" yet. Honestly the girl has more than any 3 yo should own. So I was thinking an outfit.I love dressing her up. I have her birthday pics. taken every year on her birthday with the big # she is, so I need to do that this weekend. My husband is taking 1/2 day off. I got on him for not taking a day off. Yesterday the correctional facility sent him up to Elkhart to drop off a prisoner. He spent almost 7 hours in the van driving. He was not happy. He applied for a Parole officers job, please pray he gets it. He will have his Bachelors at the end of this year and then his student loans come due soon after that. He needs to make that up some how.So anywho he is taking off at Noon. I gulited him into that. Hee hee. Tonight we are going to party safari in Avon, I believe. I did not plan a "party" this year, as in Years past. Honestly it stressed me out to bad. This year just us 4. All our family is in Ohio and half the time it is like pulling teeth to get them over here. So whatever, Us and some friends maybe...She's 3, she doesn't care, right? Ok I am rambling.....Oh I did want to tell ya, at work yesterday someone came up with the Biggest Loser's club for us...Hee hee I was like SURE!!! I have inspired my fellow coworker at least half dozen time to start eating better, Ya they last about a day. It's kind of funny. I feel like if they call it a diet, they are doomed! It's a way of eating not a diet. I had my "ahha" moment. I don't think they have. Anyway 10 bucks gets you in...we weigh in every friday.(with my scale) The most lost after 6 weeks gets the pot. Fun, I can't wait. I want to see these women do this, seriously they can not make it through the day with eating Ice Cream. (i work at DQ) ps. I DO NOT EAT THERE. I plan my meals out and bring my own! Ok I need to get moving, lots to do. Fun Day ahead...YEAH! Have a GREAT day...Shanna

Good morning, Indiana! Hope everyone is staying warm this morning but I have my doubts on that one. I have to get ready to go to the endocrinologist this morning. I have to be there in a half hour. I better get scooting!  My 3 month visit to Dr. Stanish went well. I have been taken off the calcium because of the kidney stone. Holly his PA asked if it was a calcium stone and I told her yes. One of my iron counts is low s in 3 months they are going to check it again and I might have to go back on the iron-I hope not since that constipated me soooooo bad! I am going to the Y today and work out a bit. I like going there. It gets me out too. lol I am going to be looking for a job too. I miss being in the public and besides we could always use the money that is for sure!!!!! Now is just finding one. lol I wish you luck on the job hunt, Janene.

Eluca - Have you ever met the transporter guy at St. Vincents, named Emil??? He's a trip and teases me every time he sees me even when I'm just visiting. Shanna - GL and have fun with the Biggest loser thing at work. Thats really funny. I don't see how people who work in restaurants can eat what they serve daily. It sounds weird I know but I was in management with Burger King for 2 years and worked there for 4 total and I swear I NEVER ate there til bout 2 years after I quit and I still can't handle the smell of that place some days. LOL. Oh yea Happy Birthday Bella Brenda - Thats awesome your appointment went soo well. :) Your doing really good. AAAAh soo I get to go to our local band aid station today and pick up the ONLY two labs theyre gonna have ready for me by tomorrow (they ended up having to redraw my labs yesterday). It's a long story but long story short they messed up and ONLY ran the labs that Dr Cacucci marked off NOT to run (the excuse was they thought her lines THROUGH the words were sloppy underlines, whatever lol) and didn't run anything she wanted run. One of the good things bout that happening I guess we found out a couple things that wouldn't have been run til my 12 month labs were low (Selenium was quite a bit lower than range and my Vit E is just in range by .1 so thats low side of normal) but anyways. I found out my a1c was 5.6 too. Yesterday was just a rough and not fun day!! I went to pick my mom up from work last night not feeling good, my tummy around my gtube is really sore and hurting and stuff and we stopped in walmart for 20 mins to get boxes and walk out and the streets were covered already. On the way to our house from there my gas light come on and not wanting my gas line to freeze I went to the gas station to put gas in the car and on my way out slipped and fell because they hadn't put salt down or cleared the sidewalk or anything yet. I busted my knee really bad and it's swollen and sore today but I think it's gonna be ok, I've been keeping ice on it and stuff. Today is gonna be better though!!!! I just know it.

Hi buddies,       I 'm  really slow getting on here today, just lazing around drinking my decaf. I finished a afgan for my niece's baby shower yesturday- now to wa**** and pack it up.  She  lives in Wisc. and its in Feb. No way I'm going up that time fo yr! We do know it is a girl, so I  made one in baby clouds pink lemonade- real cute & thick.          Boy , since I've been sick  my appetite is nil. Yesturday I  just stood at the cabinets and ended up fixing Dana something fried I will be glad when this cold is gone!!! I ended up taking a 1 1/2 hr. nap yesturday afternoon and I don't nap- either it's my cold or I'm getting old~~NOT!!        My daughter  Penny  called and needs me to watch the kids next week for 3 days so she can do her classes at the airport- she is a Homeland Security Officer. So I'll be having fun with Willow & Jax Wed.-Fri. I look forward to helping with the kids- they are so fun & keep me young~by next Sat. I am sure I'll be ready for the couch & my blankie- hee~hee!!!    Sounds like you all have a busy day planned. Good luck with the Drs. appts. job searches, birthday parties, and travels!!
