Floyd called...

Floyd called me this evening. He probably would had put this update in himself but as we all know, when it rains, it pours. He tried to reboot his pc and his pc is being stobborn and refusing to turn back on. So...at least he has something to try to keep his mind occupied, huh? Anyway, he did not have the endoscopy this afternoon. That ended up just being a consult with the doctor who is going to do the endo. The actual endo will be in the morning at Community North. Floyd was able to do a little research on the doctor before his pc crashed and he found an excellent review on him & he seemed to be very knowledgeable about weight-loss surgeries. Brenda will be giving me a call tomorrow after they get home. I'll let you all know what they determine is wrong..and what will be done or will need to be done to correct it. For tonight, Floyd is just trying to keep his mind off how thirsty he is since even a small sip of water is enough to cause him pain. Sherri

I have missed something. What is up with Floyd? He and Brenda are just wonderful in my book!

A few days ago Floyd began having problems keeping anything down, including water. He's having the endo to determine if he has an ulcer, a stricture (which, they can help during the endo if that's it), or another problem. Since Floyd's pc is on the fritz, I'll let you know when I hear more. Sherri ps...I think Brenda and Floyd are two of the sweetest folks I know too.

Here's to a speedy fix for Floyd! Hope all is well! They are do to leave for vacation soon, aren't they? I had my surgery at Community North, do you know who the doctor was that he is going to see? Tell them both hello and that I am thinking of them and hope to hear soon that he too is on his way to feeling better! Hugz Dawn

Dawn, Floyd told me the name of the doctor, but I don't remember it...it wasn't a typical American name and a little different to try to pronounce. I think this guy only does endoscopies though..not weight loss surgeries. If it's determined that the problem is with the band (he & Brenda had the band & RNY done like Gail did. Brenda already had to have her band removed), then Floyd will be returning to Ohio, where he had his WLS to have it removed. I guess if he goes there to have it done (as opposed to going to Dr. Huse or Dr. Evanson the way Gail did), he'll be able to get a little nip & tuck done at the same time.  Brenda & Floyd are to take off for their cruise in less than a week so I hope the immediate problem can be taken care of with the endo (stricture) or with meds (ulcer) and if the band does need removed that they can fix Floyd up to be able to eat and drink for at least 2-3 weeks. I know Floyd will be extremely disappointed if this messes up their vacation. He has really been looking forward to meeting other losers (I think even more so than the cruise itself). I'll let you all know when I hear more.... Sherri

Prayer out for Floyd... if he feels something wrapping around him... It is just Gods hands.. also a prayer for his Dr.. they need help too determining the best possible plan for recovery, Linda Kay

Hi,  I talked to Floyd yesturday before he went to the Drs. I am praying that he will have a speedy fix, and well rested & recovered for their cruise! Let me know what you hear,'k?! I think they are the best supporters of WLS life and friends we all could ask for- besides Sweet Sherri, of course! (((((hugs of healing & health))))) Ellen
