What vitamin do you use??

I currently take the Walmart generic version of Flinstones complete, but honestly I hate them--they are gritty and taste horrible--plus they stick to my teeth.  What vitamin does everyone else use?  I wish we could just take a pill instead of a chewable!

I use the real Flintstones. They cost a little more, but I think they taste better than the generic brands. I used to love Flintstones vitamins as a kid, so it's like a treat to me to have an excuse to take them every day now!

I buy the generic chewables at Dollar General, they are called Zoo Chews. They are pretty good.  The Flinstones at Dollar Gen. are $3.00 and the generics are $2.00, but you get 60 generic vs 30 with the Flinstones.  I bought sublingual B-12 at Walmart and B-1 at Walmart the cheapest they had.  I recently bought a bottle of Calcium Citrate that I have been cutting up, but you have to take 5 of those a day.  I think after the calcium is gone, I am going to try a powder calcium that is tasteless that I can mix with a drink.

I disliked the taste of the chewables, I use to smash them up and put them in my protein shakes, then I talked to the dietician and they told me to take Centrum A-Z, but the pills make me feel sick, so I take the liquid, there is an after taste, but I think that is the iron.  With you being new out, your best bet is to ask the dietican what other way you may be able to take them.  I buy most of my vitiiams at walmart but they are the cheapest place I found.  I also take Citracal Calcium, and I order these from drugstore.com, because the lemon is my favorite and I am unable to locate these in the stores, I can find the carmel and chocolate.

I have been using the Critical Creamy bites for my calcium but I am going to start using Calcium Citrate 750 when my supply of creamy bites are gone which should be in about 2 more weeks. Then I will start using Calcium citrate 750 that I got at Cutting Edge in Castleton. I had asked the dietician about it and she said it was fine as long as I took it with some milk or my protein drink. It does not have Vitamin D and the calcium needs vitamin D to digest. It is a gel cap and each one has 750 of calcium citrate so I only need 2 a day. I also use a chewable vitamin that I found at Walgreens (label says A thru Z) that says compare to Centrum Chewable. It is orange flavor and they are not bad, a little gritty but not as bad as the other chewable I have tasted. I have tried the Walmart chewable comparable to Flinstones complete and I can't take the flavors other than orange. That bottle seemed to be loaded with grape and the red one. Those at Walgreens were only $7.99 for a bottle of 100 (regular price). I actually got them on sale of buy one get one free a while back. I bought 4 bottles. This brand has the 18 mg of iron which is the big deal.

Hi Maddie, I had my surgery done at Clarian North the day before you had yours and my dietician has put me on a prenatal vitamin pill now.  They gave me a prescription for it since I live in Kokomo and I also got mine at Walmart.  It's much better than chewing the others.....I could never stand the taste of the chewables.....UGH!!! I have been on total tablets since the day of surgery.....no chewables for me.  The hospital wouldn't give them, and they said that since I am tolerating them so well, that I didn't need to change to chewables when I get home.  Right now I am taking the Meijer brands of prenatal vitamins and calciul citrate +, and then I will start back on my biotin in a few days after my drs visit on Tuesday.  Other than that, my nutritionist suggested to take viactive, but I dumped on the chewables, so it is better that I don't take them at all.
