Elfster Questions

Good morning all my little Secret Santa's! I trust you all recieved your name from Elster. There are ALOT of Secret Santa's that I haven't met yet so I am really looking forward to putting a face to the names this year! I've had some questions that I figure if one asked, at least two wants to know..so..... 1.  Everyone who is on Elfster should be on the Hoosier Directory. If you can't find their name on it, drop me a line..ok? It could be that you don't have the latest copy of the Directory. 2.  Is it too late to join? Yes. For now. If I see that several new people join the board/the Hoosier Directory that has an interest in participating, I'll set up a 2nd exchange just for those folks. I will probably wait a month or so and then put out a post to see how many people are interested at that time. 3.  I'm a man...I don't know what to get a woman. I'm a woman...I don't know what to get a man. Hmmmm... Elfster draws names completely at random. It doesn't take into account gender or anything else. Yes, I could have set it up to where only the males got male names and only the females got female names...but honestly, I just didn't think about it. I think you'll all do fine though! If you don't have a clue what your person would like/appreciate, make use of the question feature in Elfster. It's fantastic! It has some frequently asked questions that all you have to do is click on 'ask this' or you can think of your own question and ask that. If you're really stumped on what to ask your person..or how to ask it, check out some of the questions asked to other people...it might help to give you some ideas! If you are really, really stumped, drop me a line, I'll try to help you find out the answer you want. So people...if I drop you an email and ask specific questions, it does not mean I have your name...it means I'm trying to help out your Secret Santa...ok? Heh thanks so much for doing this Sherri!! I do have a silly question, if we write our own question does it send it from elfster or from you instead of us????

Elfster sends the person a notice that they have a question and a link to that question. When they go to the link, the question is there just as if it's one of Elfster's 'Ask This' questions. The person being asked the question has no clue as to who is asking the question. If you'd prefer that I ask the person something, I can and would..but most questions should be ok to be asked in Elfster's system. Sherri

I am excited as well about this......I have never done anything like this before, so it is going to be so much fun!!!  I have been busy setting up my Secret e-mail account, and have also been coming up with a bunch of questions that I will send out to my pick later today.  I do hope that everyone participates.....it does make it so much more fun! Thanks again, Sherri, for spearheading this task.  Luckily, Elfster is a big help!!!

Jacqui, As long as your email addy is correct in Elfster, you should had gotten an email. Go into Elfster, log in..click on the 'You' tab & check your email addy to be sure it's correct. Edit it if need be. To find out who you have, go to 'Home'. by your name, there is 'See my draw', click on it. It will show you who you have. Let me know if that doesn't take care of it. I'll go in & ask you a question to see if you get it. Sherri

Jacqui, I checked your addy and it's the same as what's in the directory...and that I have in my addy book. I did go in and put in a 'question' but noticed that you have 2 other questions waiting to be answered. I am going to assume that you never recieved notice of them. Since your addy is a work addy, you may want to check with your IT folks to see if there is a block on your recieving email from Elfster. I would just set up an email account through a free internet email provider like Yahoo so that you won't have a firewall blocking Elfster mail. SOMETIMES...it helps if you put in your email address book 'Elfster.com' as a 'friend' so it won't think that Elfster is a spam. Sherri

Thanks for doing this Sherry.  I have never participated in something like this, and it sounds like soo much fun.  I haven't read my email since Saturday, so I don't know who I have yet, but I am going to check as soon as I get home today! Thanks again, Tina
