Sad news

I don't know if anyone here has seen any posts on a lady named Lucie. I saw the initial post on the main board either earlier this week or last week and she was admitted to the hospital due to an infection in her incision, she had DS. I just saw on the DS forum that she lost the battle to the infection this morning. She was married with 2 little ones. I didn't know her but the post I initially saw just stayed with me and I followed her story as best I could the last few days. It just absolutely broke my heart to see she had passed. I don't know what it is but when I see someone young like she was that has little ones it just makes it all the more sad to me. Maybe because I have a little one myself.  Just thought I'd post this so if anyone would like to read more you can go to the DS forum. The topic is Lucie or Sad news about Lucie. Please let us all be in prayer for her family at this terribly sad time for them. Julie

From what I have read, she started getting an infection at the end of Nov. She was put on antibiotics and then was doing better until Christmas Eve. She was in the hospital with a fever and the infection I guess just spread throughout your body. It is sad and you wouldn't think something like that would kill someone.

My aunt had lap-band surgery in November. She also got an infection in one of her incisions. Between her diabetes and other health problems, my aunt isn't a fast healer. A previous gall bladder surgery had scarred so thickly that the incision they placed there wouldn't heal because of all the "dead" tissue. They had to go back in and cut her all the way down until it bled profusely to get good tissue before they would close the wound. She's perfectly fine now. Luckily, they were able to stop the infection from spreading which from the sound of it no one was able to do for Lucie. :(
