New here, just got my surgery date!
I'm new here...found it earlier in the fall when I first started researching the surgery, but just today my dr's office called to tell me they have my surgery scheduled!!
April 2....three months to go! I haven't told a soul yet...my husband will be home from work in about an hour so I'm staying awake so we can talk, I just needed to start something here!!
And congrats on your date! It will be hear quicker than you know it!

Welcome to OH and to the Indiana board! Congrats on getting through all the roughest phase of being a pre-op...the insurance approval. Followed by the 2nd roughest..that L..O..N..G wait on the surgeon's office to call you will a date..lol. Your date is going to be here in no time at all. It's funny how quick that time flies by! In the meantime, just don't over-do it. Some people try to eat as much as they can of everything they can pre-op. Don't do that...it causes your sugars to go whacky and can cause your surgery to be postponed. We can give you some suggestions for that last few weeks pre-op on how you can prepare yourself for surgery so be sure to let us know when you're ready for that...k? Such as...telling your favorite foods good-bye can help later on with head hunger issues. Just remember that you have a wealth of information and experience at your fingertips here on this board. All you gotta do is read..and ask if we don't already have it posted. I have a section on my profile for pre-ops and newbies...your'e welcome to read it.
Oh...we aren't a board-posting group only. We love to get to know each other..in person as well as chatting, etc. You are welcome to join in on any activities you see posted here! We're having a clothing exchange on the 5th. It's for pre & post-ops so please do try to come if possible! Also, I hope that you send Floyd your info so he can include you on our Hoosier Directory. There's posts about both within the past few days, the clothing Exchange & the Directory.
