I'm home... Dr C squeezed me in this afternoon because my g-tube had gone all the way in my incision to the point that only the valves were hanging out. She ended up having to deflate the balloon and pull it out and restitch it really good it looks like in 2 different spaces. Theres definitely a lot less pressure on my rib area and I can breathe easier now. The muscles in that area are super sore and the new area that it's stitched into is really sore too. We talked and if I can keeping taking these small baby steps and making some improvements we MAY be able to take the tube out next month at my 6 month follow up. Of course I need to make my pouch cooperate with me and actually accept food and keep it and all that fun stuff... Oh yea I've officially lost over HALF of my weight to get to goal. I have less weight left to lose than I've lost. I found out that Richard's part time job at the radio station is giving all the folks that work there and their families memberships to the local fitness club! This is soooo exciting. I've been praying for a way to find a job or find a way to get a membership (theyre pretty darn expensive) and all the sudden the sign up sheet showed up! I'm thinking theyre probally trading advertising or something like that but that doesn't matter hehe all that matters is I can start working out!!!

I forgot to add.. I officially weigh less than Richard by 9 lbs! Also I asked Dr. C if she thought I was losing at the right pace because lately I feel like I'm not losing fast enough and she told me that I'm doing good. She said by 6 months out they like you to have lost 80-100 lbs and I'm still 1 month + 1 week from 6 months out and I'm hoping to lose bout 15 more lbs atleast by my 6 month appointment on Jan 28.

Yeah!!! Good News!!! And a couple WOW moments. That's just what you needed before christmas!!! I'm so happy things are turning around. Tell your pouch to be nice!!! I was wondering, are you on any steriods for your asthma? Sometimes steroids can weaken your immune system i think, so maybe thats why you had an abscess. :??????  Just a guess. Maybe the mds would know! Glad to have some happy news from you!!! I just realized after you posted that I finally weigh less than my husband too!!! We Are Awesome!!!   Talk to ya soon!!! Amanda

YAAY !! We rock... We really need to find a way to get together!!!!!!! I've done good. I've managed to actually avoid needing a big dose of steroids since last month but I'm still needing them atleast monthly!! It will get better I know though.

Misty, I'm glad Dr. C was able to help you. I really hope that next month you'll be able to get rid of that dang gtube too. Let me know when that appt is. Maybe we can meet somewhere afterwards, do lunch, and celebrate it being gone! LOL! Sherri

Well originally the appointment was Jan 21 but we had to change it to the 28th so Rich didn't have to use a vacation day plus it's closer to my actual 6 months. :)

Ah well. Since my surgery is the 21st, I doubt if I'll be up to much by the 28th. You & Rich will have to celebrate! Sherri
