So I decided to call BCBS today and ask what I was covered on My new Insurance that starts on the First. I must beable to qualify their predetermination for surgery and then my copay is 500.00 for the hospital and the sugery is covered 100 percent.Did I actually say that 100 , 100 percent.I am just hoping I can pass the determination. Ok here is my next question...? What surgeon should I pick. I do not know...Everyone loves their surgeon. I do not blame them. I am sure I will too.But I live in southwestern Indy and Carmel would be atleast 45 min. drive To every doc's appt.But I hear the best hosp. are up there. What should I do? Thanks for letting me vent. Shanna

I went to St. Vincents in Carmel and it is 1 1/2 hr drive for me, but it was well worth it. My doc was Dr. Gupta.

It's a 4 hour drive for me. Dr. Diaz is my surgeon. He is worth every mile, every minute on the road. My sister had hers done by another surgeon down here and has had trouble from the get-go. I fully recommend any of the docs at St. Vs. As a matter of fact, Dr. Diaz left for vacation after doing my surgery so Dr. Gupta did my hospital visits and 1 wk post-op. She is fabulous as well! There's just something special about Dr. Diaz though. Plus, he connects with my hubby really well too. That's been a huge asset. Troy was really worried about the whole thing. He's thrilled we chose Dr. Diaz. Good luck with your decision. Jacqui

I went to the Clarian Bariatric Center through Clarian North. Dr Mattar was my doc and he is wonderful. Such a caring, compassionate man. I just wish more docs had his bedside manner. He would come in and hold my hand, or would rub the top of my foot. It was just a nice experience. :)

ST. V's is a Center of Excellance and has done over 10,000 surgeries with 1 million lbs lost. I would say they have the experience. Dr. RoseMarie Jones worked well for me. I am big also in letting the Dr. choose the procedure. They have the know how and can judge what will work for you. E

By the way Plainfield is close to Camby. The 10th of January 7 PM to 8:30PM at Plainfield Christian Church is a new support group for St. V's please come to it and get info. I haven't had my surgery yet but after my delivery experience with my daughter last year at St. Vincent's Women's Hospital there was no other choice. I was going to St. V's. That said my co-worker had his RNY at Clarian North (he lives near Franklin, IN) and he also had a great experience. I do feel really confident in Dr. Evanson and everything I have heard about him has been overwhelmingly positive.

I just have to jump in and mention where I am having my surgery - Goshen, IN @ Team Bariatrics. Im not sure where everyone lives but it more northern, IN My cousin had her surgery in Carmel and had great success there too.

Shanna~ Like you said everyone's doctor was the best to them....I suggest you find out which doctors and which hospitals your insurance covers...next step is do some research online...go to the St. V's bariatric center website and check out the doctors....I had Doc Huse...he is great and he is also a founder of the St. V's Bariatric Center. Involve your hubby in the research and the consultations also. I live 1 hour and 45 minutes from Carmel...but it was worth the drive! huggggggggggs, Janene

I talked to BCBS today and they said any hsp, doctor in Indy. Ie.st. vin, st fran, or clarian. I have a call into Clarian to get an appt. for a seminar next week. I am gonna go to a seminar to a couple places I guess. thanks Bunches shanna
