Well all I am still fighting the good fight. It seems that every day I start out doing good, but as the day goes on the cigarettes win out. My husband is being very encouraging what a change!! Each time I light up he says "the sooner you quit the sooner you get your surgery!!" I am amazed by this sudden change in attitude. Ok guess I have whined enough now. Keep me in your prayers. Kelly

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

I quit cold turkey.  I just knew how bad I wanted to the surgery and knew I had to quit 2 months before the surgery, so I wasnt taking any chances.  You might try Chantix, it is a prescription drug. I just used hard candy and gum and suckers.  It is very hard to conquer, but if you want this surgery you will do what is right.  Good luck! Jenny

I quit cold turkey too just before doing our fertility shots.  It's amazing what you can do when the motivation is right.  I know you can do this.   Good luck! Jacqui

Kelly, I had smoked for 28 years....until September 2007.  When I got my surgery date, I had my family doctor put me on Chantix.  I stopped smoking totally after being on it a week.  Ii never thought I would be able to quit and it was so great to find something that worked.  In the past, I have tried hypnosis, nicotine replacement therapy and cold turkey.  Chantix is the best thing ever invented.  Good luck on stopping....I know how hard it is! Robin
I always said "pigs would fly" before they approved my surgery.  Guess what??? The pigs are flying!!!!
