I am just under 7 months out (RNY) and I have lost 105 pounds. Dont get me wrong I think is great. But the size of my clothing hasn't went down much and I am tired more than what I feel like I should be. I exercise and try to do the right things. My hips and booty are still huge, and to tell the truth I cant tell that much and I see people I havent seen in awhile and they don't say anything either I dont know if I'm the elephant in the room or what? I have 60 more pounds til goal. Hopefully by then atleast I'll notice, maybe someone else might too. My family tells me they can notice but I feel like they are trying to be nice since no one else says anything. Dont get me wrong I didnt do this for other people I did it for me but it would be nice if someone else noticed.

105 pound is a lot to not notice. Perhaps people are being cautious in what they're telling you? Do they know you've had surgery? As for you not noticing,... I am 13 months out, and just starting to be able to tell. It took a long time to start seeing a different me in the mirror. Do you have a tape measure you could compare measurements with for factual data, not subjective data like the mirror?

About being tired. Call your surgeon to talk to them about that. I was exhausted back in March. Turned out my protein was very low, and I needed to bring it up. I worked with the dieticians to find ways that didn't turn my stomach to help get more protein. It worked,.. I'm back up to normal as of my year check-up and have more energy.  Good luck,

First, congrats on the terrific weight loss! I remember when I was 7 months out and had lost 80 lbs. My own mother told me that I sure wasn't losing weight as well as my sister did. I told her how much I had lost and her response? 'Hmmm, sure can't tell it'. People have a tendency to see 'big' as 'big' and 'small' as 'small'. My mom was a size 8/10 so since I was still a size 20 at the time (down from a 26/28), I was still 'big'. Period. She hasn't seen me since then...I was a size 8/10 BEFORE my plastics.   You didn't say what weight you started at. I was 352 lb to start..so an 80 lb loss still had me at 272 lb. My mom was MAYBE 105 lbs so to her...yep, I was still very big. Most people are more polite than my mother (guess why I haven't seen her in almost 3 years?!?!) and will say nothing at all. But then again, some people notice and don't say anything because they don't want it come accross like they thought you were as big as a house before. I have found that the best approach is to just bring up the topic myself. In fact, I have before & after pics posted by my desk at work. Talk about a conversation starter! My sizes didn't go down very quick that first year either...especially that first drop from a 26/28 to a 24. I think that was because the 26/28 were so very snug that it took awhile for them to actually get baggy. Once that I got to a size 16 though, it seemed like I was dropping sizes every month or so!  No matter what hon...remember that you did this for YOU! So even if you come accross people like my mother, keep your chin up and know you are doing everything right!!! Be proud of your accomplishments because you are truly doing a fantastic job! Wow, Sherri, you even made me feel better. I am almost 6 months out, have lost 75 lbs. and have hit a long plateau. I have been so discouraged, afraid I wouldn't lose much more. How did you do it? You really dropped later!

I don't see my weightloss hardly at all. Yes I've dropped sizes (depending on the cut and what not) BUT I don't feel like I've lost any weight. I've been stalled for 2 weeks apparently and it's got me pretty bummed out but everyone keeps telling me how much different I look. Keep your head up though!!!!!!! (( HUGS ))

Thanks you guys. Sherri you rock... always know what to say to make someone feel better. I'm 5ft and I started at 319. So make no mistake I'm still big. But I feel much better. Everyone needs to know that they are doing well and this is a VERY hard thing to do just stay with it. Sometimes its just nice to hear.
