What Wonderful news Sherri! I am thrilled for you! You have been thru so much and now you will be all better soon! I totally understand your concern on the blood thinners for the prevention of blood clots. I did talk to Dr. Bergman about that before my surgery and my understanding was that with so much being done internally the risk is greater for internal bleeding than blod clots and that is primarily the reason they are not given after surgery. I wonder if perhaps it would be better if they can't do it immediatly after surgery, to start a lovenox program maybe a week after when most of the initial healing has already started. It would certainly be worth looking into for future patients. I am jsut so happy to see you getting all fixed and being able to resume your normal life.
