In the hospital

Well ladies and gentleman I had my first and hopfully last episode Monday at noon.  I attended a lunch meeting at work and all of a sudden had sharp pains in my left shoulder shooting up my neck and became unresponsive for 90 seconds.  They called an ambulance and I am in IU hospital takin test to see if they can find out what happened.  It has been proven so far that I have a brain, An EEG was done, I have a heart a ECHO scan was done and a MRI is scheduled at 2PM to check my blood vessels in my neck.

I feel 100% well and expect to go home tonight.  I am asking for prayers that the Dr's can see from the test what may have happened and be able to offer a solution.  So far all LOOKS NORMAL.  I am going to guess the fact that I have lost 148 lbs in 7 months has caused my body to say quit that.  I have been advised by the NUT at St. V's on my 6 month checkup to increase my food intake because of all the excercise I do but I have not done that.  I may now.   God Bless you all and keep toward thwe goal in everything you do should Honor God not yourself.

How very scary for you.  Please know that Troy and I are lifting you in prayer.  I am praying for a reason for this so you know not to do it again! I've known all along you have a heart...and it's a good one! Take care of yourself. Jacqui

Hey! Glad to know you have a brain & heart! Already knew you had courage, so you could be any of Dorothy's side kicks, huh?  I hope one of the tests lets them know what's going on. That had to be extremely scary for Becky. I know, for you too, but she loves you so I know for her too. We'll keep you BOTH in our thoughts & prayers!!

I am home and feeling fine.  Nothing was found in the test.  Just a minor event I guess.  Thanks for the prayer and support. E

I don't know if this will help any, but it's a possibility since they couldn't find anything.  10-1/2 yrs. ago I had VBG surgery and anytime I ate a little too much my left shoulder would hurt really bad.  I was never unresponsive, but the pain could be really excruciating at times.   Dr. Huse told me that for some reason with the surgery I'd had at that time, people's left shoulders would hurt when you ate either too much or a little too fast. That's the explanation I've heard so far anyway.  I'm not sure if it's the same with RNY, since I haven't had my revision yet, but I suppose it's possible. Candy

I was wondering... I hate these scare events that take place in our lives for no aparent reason... Well it is great to know that all the tests came out good!! Hey I KNOW you have a heart I have read your posts and have met you face to face. Glad your ok and home for the holidays Linda Kay
