Letters From Santa

Since everyone is getting in the holdiay spirit, I thought I would share this website with everyone that has small children in their family.  It is put on by the Santa Claus Museum in Santa Claus, IN.  If you go to their site, click on Letters To Santa, and you will be able to fill out a little information about the child, and then the child will recieve a PERSONAL letter from Santa. It is free, and the kids really love it. Here is the link: http://www.santaclausmuseum.org/2007webpage/www.santaclausmu seum.org.htm This afternoon, we took the girls to Jasper to the Wal-mart there.  A friend of mine was playing 3D Santa  Santa there, and he knew that the girls would freak out if he called them by name BEFORE they even got to them! Molly's eyes got to be the size of potatos when "Santa" called her by her name! LOL  I had already told him a couple of things that she has been doing lately, and he reminded her that he is watching her at all times,  Santa and that she had better be good for us! Mariah was so freaked  out also, I think it finally has gotten to them that we mean business when we tell them to mind, or Santa won't come visit! HEHE  I know, I am bad, but I will resort to anything I can to get them to mind us! LOL Candy Cane 1

Thanks, I actually posted something on Yahoo! Answers and got several people telling me where to send letters.. but all cost... This one is free. I was excited... I know its sad that I got excited this was free, but I know this is something my daughter will really enjoy.  Speaking of free... Does anyone have any ideas of stuff I can do with my daughter which is almost 4(I may have my nephews ages 4 and 7 and Brother in law who is 12 too) that is free around the holidays... like places you go or crafts to do.... Last year she was starting to get into the holidays but I was in the hospital most of the Thanksgiving/Christmas season because I had preeclampsia when I was pregnant with Logan. So, last year we didnt really get to celebrate and I have always been the one to take the kids to all the events to celebrate(even if it is free or cheap we do it--they still have fun) So now I dont have anything planned to do... So I need help with this! Megan

Michael's craft stores usually have a free or very cheap ornament craft program for kids on Saturdays........if there is one close to you, this would be a good idea. Check your local newspaper for "Breakfast with Santa". Many local businesses and resturaunts hold these events the whole month of December. If you were close to French Lick, I would suggest taking her on the Santa Train...on the French Lick Railways.....it is on the same date as the ornament exchange. It is a great train ride in the hills of Southern Indiana, and the kids get to meet Santa and every child gets a gift on the trip.  Another good thing to do is go look at Christmas lights. It is free, unless you count the gas spend on the drive around town, but you can incorporate this with every day errands as well. Hope you will be able to figure out some fun things to do with her.

Hey, do you know how expensive the French Lick thing is. I might talk my family into going to it. That sounds fun. I need to go get craft kits. Another question... My sons 1st birthday is the 5th. What can I do with the kids... Should I get a kit for them to make an ornament at the party... Do you think that would work? I know my 1 year old couldnt do it, but he will be the only 1 year old there, maybe another 1 1/2 year old but the rest are 3, 4,.5,  and 7. I need to do cheap but something fun...

As far as the kids party.........there are plenty of online party suggestions listed. Just google for free kids party ideas. You should find plenty to choose from!
