Alright, I need a little guidance.  I'm getting the pain in my left shoulder when I lie down.  It's very painful, and I know it's from the gas.  Now, I know to walk, walk, walk, and I'm doing that, but does anyone have any other suggestions to help this along?  I would be really greatful if someone could help me out with this.  Thanks!

Whitney,

Is this a new pain (ie...within the last day or two)? You may want to contact your surgeon's office. Sure, most of the time it is gas, but occationally it can also signify a perforation (leak).  I am assuming the pain is in the front near your clavicle..not in the back by your shoulder blades (which, that can just be a sore muscle). If they also feel that it is probably gas, ask them if you can use Gax-X chewables. I keep Gas-X on hand for every time I am post-op! It's a life saver!!! Sherri

I use Gas-X strips for gas pains...and I've had some killer gas pains. If that doesn't work, you should get it checked out.

Hugs,

Angie
