Nasty taste in my mouth

I have this taste in my mouth that will not go away.  I've tried everything I'm allowed, lots of beverages, mouth wash, brushing.  The NUT says it's from keytosis and for me to suck on mints (which are on the no-no list).  It's making me really sick.  It tastes like a cross between envelope paste and vomit. Anyone know of a cure? Thanks, Jacqui

Sorry, no idea of a cure.  But it might make you feel better (even though not taste better) to remember that ketosis is your body burning up the fat.

More water. You are dehydrating again?

I don't know how I could be dehydrating.  I'm really pushing the liquids and eating lots of popsicles.  I'm getting close to 60 ozs of beverages a day at the least!

I did a search on OH and lots of people have said the vitamins leave a bad taste in their mouths.  I'm wondering if it's my flintstones.  If it is, can we use a different vitamin?

Thanks,

Jacqui

I buy the CVS brand of Flintstones when I order the liquid calcium.  Tolerate them well.

A friend of mine had a bad taste in her mouth after surgery and it was from the iron pills her DR had her on.  It could be from a few different things.  Mine bothered me in the beginning but I think it was from not enough water.  You can do the gummy bear vitamins and a few different ones from Vitamin stores.  Good luck from your neighbor in Spencer County. Wow Tina!  I can't believe you're here!  We need to get together sometime.  I am sooooo in need of a support group.  There's another person who posts on here from Dale.  How cool is that?

Thanks for the response!

The b1 is nasty to me...but I TOO had the bad taste....I do believe it is keytosis. My surgeon AND NUT said it was.  I take CVS Children's complete multi vitamins...they are like flinstones...chewable...and cheaper!

Lord, keep me in your will so I won't be in your way.

I had a bad taste in my mouth my first week post op, but havent had it since.  I heard it was ketosis as well.  They say you get really tired while going thru it as well.

I would think the sugar free mints would be ok.
