Yippie!!! It's Friday!!!
You only have one life to live, but if lived right, it's the only one you need!
Good morning everyone!
I'm waiting on the call from the visiting nurse to let me know when she'll be here to draw blood & change the wound-vac. I'm going to ask her when she calls if I can take a shower. Since she'll be changing the bandaging and it's suppose to be water-proof, I'm hoping she'll say yes. It'd be my first shower since October 5th (other than the 1 'shower' I had at Seton...sit on a bench thing with a shower nozzle to rinse the soap off, but not a REAL shower). In my mind, I can almost feel how good tha****er is going to be!
Speaking of the wound-vac..you all aren't going to believe this. I have discovered 2 red places under the tape. One looked like a pocket of air and it was close to the edge of the tape so I lifted up that edge. It was wet, puss I guess. So....now I have to wonder if I'm not becoming allergic to the tape used for the wound-vac. It wouldn't break my heart to not be able to use this darn thing but it would slow down the healing and any more showers would definately be out...and that WOULD break my heart! We'll see.
I'm all done with the pills that was causing the nausea!! YEAH! Just remember that if you ever have to take Flagl for an intestinal bacterial infection (I don't know if I had one or not...I don't know the results of the tests, but Dr. Gupta wanted me to take the med just in case there were any bacteria), it is the same drug they give alcoholics in rehab. Hmmm..me and movie stars had it in common..lol. Anyway, if you have ANY alcohol at all, it will make you horribly sick. That's why it works for alcoholics. Many, many meds also have alcohol in it too though...like the one I'm on for the spasms (and many cough/cold meds!). It does feel nice to drink my AchievOne without my tummy flipping.
I had gotten a lovely call from Gail. Poor thing is having so much trouble with this forum on her pc. You know, she just brightens my day each time she calls me. I am so glad that health-wise things have turned the corner and are working out for her. We couldn't help but to remember a very sweet friend of ours that came into our lives last year..and was in our lives much too short of a time. As you go about your busy lives, please whisper a prayer for Mary's children. They are soon coming up on a year without their mom, our friend.
Well ladies & gentlemen...you all have a good day today!
