Good Friday to all! It is a very cold morning in the Hoosier Hills. It is my kind of Fall weather tho. It is just another day of work for me today, and the girls are having their friend spend the night tonight, so not much else is planned. I am hoping to hear from the insurance company today to make sure they have faxed my paper to Dr. Shina's office so they can get me on the schedule soon!  I will call them this morning if they don't call me first! lol Have a wonderful day everyone, and just think............its almost the weekend!
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!

Good morning everyone!

I'm waiting on the call from the visiting nurse to let me know when she'll be here to draw blood & change the wound-vac. I'm going to ask her when she calls if I can take a shower. Since she'll be changing the bandaging and it's suppose to be water-proof, I'm hoping she'll say yes. It'd be my first shower since October 5th (other than the 1 'shower' I had at Seton...sit on a bench thing with a shower nozzle to rinse the soap off, but not a REAL shower). In my mind, I can almost feel how good tha****er is going to be!

Speaking of the wound-vac..you all aren't going to believe this. I have discovered 2 red places under the tape. One looked like a pocket of air and it was close to the edge of the tape so I lifted up that edge. It was wet, puss I guess. So....now I have to wonder if I'm not becoming allergic to the tape used for the wound-vac. It wouldn't break my heart to not be able to use this darn thing but it would slow down the healing and any more showers would definately be out...and that WOULD break my heart! We'll see.

I'm all done with the pills that was causing the nausea!! YEAH! Just remember that if you ever have to take Flagl for an intestinal bacterial infection (I don't know if I had one or not...I don't know the results of the tests, but Dr. Gupta wanted me to take the med just in case there were any bacteria), it is the same drug they give alcoholics in rehab. Hmmm..me and movie stars had it in common..lol. Anyway, if you have ANY alcohol at all, it will make you horribly sick. That's why it works for alcoholics. Many, many meds also have alcohol in it too though...like the one I'm on for the spasms (and many cough/cold meds!). It does feel nice to drink my AchievOne without my tummy flipping.

I had gotten a lovely call from Gail. Poor thing is having so much trouble with this forum on her pc. You know, she just brightens my day each time she calls me. I am so glad that health-wise things have turned the corner and are working out for her. We couldn't help but to remember a very sweet friend of ours that came into our lives last year..and was in our lives much too short of a time. As you go about your busy lives, please whisper a prayer for Mary's children. They are soon coming up on a year without their mom, our friend.

Well ladies & gentlemen...you all have a good day today!

Sherri

Amen, Sherri! I remember meeting Mary in the hospital, when I had my surgery. She was a good, kind person. I hope her family is coping as best they can with the anniversary of her death coming up.

Happy Friday all!!  Well, not THAT happy.  I have to work tonight...and tomorrow night.  I can't really complain I guess, I only have to work every third weekend, and with my surgery on Monday, I'm gonna be off for a whole month.  So...YAY for that!  haha I'm already packed and ready to go to St. V's on Monday mornin'.  My Mom and Sister, Nikki, are taking me down there.  Still not really that nervous yet.  I just can't believe it's really going to happen. I feel like I've been waiting forever!  But really, the time just flew by.   My toe has healed up nicely.  It's just kinda itchy now, which I know is a good thing because it's healing.  I'm so happy about it...can't ya tell?!  haha   Well, I hope everyone has a great day today and rest of the weekend!  Take care! friday-2.gif weekend image by werkjay

Hi all, hope you're having a good, although cold, day. I am always cold lately. I am wearing two sweaters today! I don't know how skinny people handle winter!  I will be in Indy/Carmel on Monday. I have my year appointment with the surgeon and dietician. I have lost 120 pounds in one year. That's amazing to me.  I am only 15 pounds from my goal. I am wearing size 10 pants today. I am just floored. I've never worn this size before. I think I am ready for some mediums too. I just don't feel mentally ready to wear a medium. I am afraid that will sound stupid, but I hope my friends here understand.

Wow Jess, I don't know if I'm ready to think of myself as a "Skinny Person" yet. It's too scary. It's like shopping in regular stores, I'm still afraid someone's going to say, "Ahem, FAT GIRL, get out of here!"
