Welcome Brok.... Unfortunately I live almost 2 hours away so I haven't made it to a support group meeting at St V's. I hope you get all the answers to any questions you have there and what not. I hear it's an awesome group and hope maybe after the winter to make it to one.

Brok--welcome to obesityhelp!  The support groups are great!  I have only attended that groups in Bloomington, but I have been told all the groups are wonderful.  I enjoy the groups and look forward to the support and friendship I find at them!  I read through your story on your profile--I too was obese from an early age--weighing 200 pounds at 10 years old.  I felt and understood the pain you expressed from being an overweight child.  I hope you find support and comfort from the support groups--I know I do!

-Maddie Thanks for your response, I am glad someone can actually relate to me!  Alot of people do, but not as much as "my level" in general.  I wish you all the best on your journey and good luck with your surgery.  Next month will be here before you know it! :) -Brok

Brok~ Welcome aboard!!! I just joined in August, and have found that this board is the most supportive that I could dream of having!  I live in the southern part of IN,  and my dr is in Louisville,KY so I don't attend the St. V's meetings.  I do hope to get to attend and meet everyone at the ornament exchange in December........that will all be hanging on when my actual date is.. Enough about that tho, welcome to the board. Please post with us, we would love to hear more from you!
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!

You only have one life to live, but if lived right, it's the only one you need!
