Wanting to know if you can take all 3 chewable multi-vitamins at the same time?  Same for the calcium chews, can you do all 3 at the same time.  I start the day off good, but am having trouble remembering to get all of them in every day.  Any helpful hints??  Thanks!!

I just alternate one every 2 hrs.  Like I'll take my calcium then 2 hrs later my multi-vitamin then wait 2 hrs and take another calcium and so on.  I too have wondered if we could take them at the same time.   I hate my flinstones and would love to get them all over in one shot.

I take all of my multi-vitamins at the same time and all of my calcium at the same time...BUT...allow at least 3 hours between taking the multi-vitamins and the calcium because they can affect each other's effectiveness. I am also on synthroid (thyroid) so as per my encrinologist, I am to also allow 3 hours after taking it to take any vitamins. For me, it works out best to take the synthroid as soon as I get up (so it's on an empty stomach). Around lunch time, I take my multi-vitamins, B12 & B1 (on the days I'm to do them). After dinner, I usually take my Citrical (kinda like a chocolatety dessert).  I place my days vitamins in a little mint tin so that I can have them with me when the time is right...at home, work, shopping, camping, et****ep the Citrical by my chair in the livingroom so I can take them in the evening while watching TV. Just find your own 'habit' and you'll do fine! Sherri

I didnt realize I could take all the multi vit. at the same time and all the calcium chews at the same time. I will have to try that, because I usually forget to take my evening ones.

Jenny,

I've done it that way for 3+ years and my labs have always come back terrific. I think the key thing is to take them...and without them countering their effectiveness. If you try to separate them and forget to take them, they aren't in your body to do any good at all. Besides, I don't remember ever being told to not take more than one at a time.

Yes, you can take them at the same time. I asked Dr. Evanson that once at a support group, and he said it was fine. I do that, because then it's easier to get them all in, but do wait a couple hours between the vitamins and the calcium. I think it's because the calcium will bind with the iron in the vitamin, and then it won't be absorbed so much.

Cool!  This will make it so much easier.  I am glad this question was asked.

Actually, you really shouldn't take your calcium all at once because your body can't absorb that much at one time.

I'm still new to all this.  2 weeks out today!  Here's what I do...I take my flintstones all at once.  My calcium chews (Creamy Bites) I have to take at different times.  When I eat one, it fills me up too much.  I usually wait about an hour then take the next one.  I leave my last one for right before bed.  It seems to work for me.

Hope it helps!

According to the Nutritionist at Clarian, the body (pre or post op) can only absorb 500 mg of calcium at one time.  Ruthann says you should take your calcium at least 2 hours apart in order to absorb as much as possible.  Otherwise you are wasting it.  Also, you should take your calcium at least 2 hours after your multi-vitamin because the iron and calcium will bond together and your body will not absorb either.  I know you will get lots of different advice, but Ruthan is a chemist.  I feel very comfortable that she knows what she is talking about.  Good luck.
