I would say to stay off the scale and wait until your clothes tell you weight is coming off.

9 days is a little soon to worry.  What ever food plan they have given you use.  I would say weigh and or measure everything that goes in your mouth.  Make a food diary and walk walk walk.  Things will start happening.  Understand not everyone will lose at the same rate.

Keep you in our prayers

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

You are not going to see anything in a week.  When I went back for my 1 wk checkup, I had lost 12 lbs and I couldnt tell I had lost that.  Now I am a month post op and my clothes are getting really baggy.  I havent been on a scale since my 1 wk post op, but I know I am losing because I can tell in my clothes.  The weight will come off, everyone loses at a different rate.  Dont worry!  Good luck and welcome to the losers bench.

Marie, Welcome to the Hoosier Loser's! Congrats on your surgery. While most of us do feel like it's darn near impossible to get down 2 oz of food post-op, all doesn't feel that way. Some have head hunger (think: eyes bigger than tummy). Some have a hard time letting go of how they use to eat and look at those 2 oz as impossibly small. If you truly feel hungry, talk with your surgeon about it. There are some medical causes why that can happen (such as a staple-line interuption). Most of the time, it is our old habits..but not always so do express this concern to your surgeon. We all do lose weight at our own rate. Remember that when you were in the hospital, they gave you at least one bag of IV solution. That solution alone is enough to add pounds! I gained 14 pounds while I was in overnight for my surgery! Granted, I lost it right away but it can be discouraging to look at that scale that first few days...so DON'T. You will see it moving very quickly, very soon. BTW...you will feel 100% better once that drain tube is out. Sherri
