Protein question
Jenny,
I'm +3 yr post op and I still do protein supplements (40 g/day). I will probably always do them. They keep me as healthy as I can be, and that makes it worth it. Granted, I like the taste of the ones I drink so that helps...even though they get to be pricey. While I was in the hospital here recently, they really encouraged me to drink them as well. You will find that your weight loss will be at a maximum if you continue drinking them, increase your water, and increase your exercising...all three or any of the three will help. Sherri

Jenny,
I do the AchievOne through BariatricEating.com. I've checked other places, including through the manufacturer themself and that is the least expensive place to get it. My preference is the Mocha Java flavor but they have three other flavors; hazzlenut, Vanilla, and cappachino. There is a little bit of caffiene in them. When I inquired as to how much, I was told it was equivalent to 1/2 cup (4 oz) of coffee. Since I normally drink 100+ oz of water, I make up for the caffiene and then some. The AchievOne's do have a hint of a coffee flavor so if you hate coffee, you probably wouldn't like them. I would recommend that you have a special spot in your fridge just for them because they are best served cold..and not with ice which dilutes it. You may want to check out some of the other protein supplements available at BariatricEating.com. I know that several are fans of the Nectar proteins. They do have some samples that you can order of some of the varieties. Sherri
