Today is my 3rd week out from surgery--RNY--I have lost a total of 16 lbs., Im not sure if thats good or bad...it doesnt seem like alot to me.

Every pound is good, whether it is too much, or not enough. Your body will choose for you what is right......keep up the great work!

Thanks, Im just very impatient!! I keep thinking why havent I lost 85 lbs., not thinking the people that have lost huge amounts did so over several months.

Did u ever talk to dr clark about being able to eat so much after surgery....i am lapband patient..3 weeks post op wed...ive lost about 15 plus lbs..havent been weighed in a week........I hope all is ok and your doing well

yes, he said alot was head hunger and that I would start to feel full in a couple more months, due to the surgery and my stomach healing. Im doing better on the eating part. Im just impatient on the losing, I feel like I should have lost more than 16 lbs. in 3 weeks.

Everyone loses at a different pace.  In addition, your body will periodically need time to adjust to all the changes going on inside.  DON'T PANIC! You are doing fine.  Start taking pictures once a month and take measurements at the same time.  Even when the scales are not moving, you are losing inches.  You will notice that your clothes get looser and/or fit differently.   This is not called a journey for nothing.  It is a life long process just like breathing.  Eventually, your weight will stablize and you may even fluctuate up and down a couple of pounds depending on the weather (we tend to hold water when it is hot), what you have eaten, how physically active you are.  This is all normal.  Just trust your pouch and follow your meal plan.  You will be thinner before you know it!
