Hi, Daughter is 6 weeks out from RNY, down 18 lbs. She is on the run constantly with friends.  NUT said to eat 5 - 6 small times a day.  She is easting more like 3 times a day and says she is not hungry. She tries to get in at least 2 protein drinks per day, NUT would like 3. She tells me  I nag at her which I do because I want her to be successful.  I need advice on what others are doing and how they are doing it ! ! !   M

Everyone's dietician and doctor is different so it'd be hard to know what shes supposed to do. I was told 3 meals a day originally and was told a couple weeks ago to start 5-6 2 oz meals a day.

Just as Misty said every doc and nutritionist is different.  I am to eat 3 times a day.  I am almost 3 wks out.  I dont think you are nagging her, it is very important to follow the instructions given to you.  There is so much that can happen.  Maybe the nutritionist needs to sit her down and give her a good talking to.

I was 43 when I had my surgery and I stayed with my mom rather than my husband after my surgery.  Moms are much more help...however there is a fine line between help and nagging like u said.  U can remind her to eat and take her vitamins but u cant make her do it.  She needs to know that she wasnt healthy at a large wt and she wont be healthy at a smaller wt if shes not taking care of herself.....she might even be worse off if shes not careful.

I see she had dr curry  Did she have a lap band???  I know for many of us we had a RNY and Im sure the diet and directions he gave her are different than what I had.  She should follow his directions to the "T" though.  Hes a very good dr and Im sure his instructions are very exact.  Hes also very helpful so if u cant talk to her u might talk to him about him having  a good long sit down with her on her next visit.
