Out of the hospital but not home.

Hey everyone!  Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by to visit or signed my card at the exchange.  It all made me feel very special. Dr. Diaz is on vacation until next week so Dr. Gupta did my followups at the hospital.  She said she felt I am ready to go home.  After talking it over with my nurse and my hubby, we decided to go ahead and stay in a hotel in the area for one more night...just in case something happens. I'm getting fluids in well but not anything to eat.  He still has me on a clear liquid diet and the broths and jellos make me feel sick.  I did have Troy stop and get me some protein shakes (EAS Advant Edge carb control).  It has17 grams of protein and I can drink it well enough.  I guess it's ok that I've done this since I'm not on full liquids yet. They also started me on lortab pills.  They really made me sick.  I got switched to the liquid today and it's much better. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm ok and how much I appreciate the prayers going up on my behalf. I'll post more tomorrow when we get home.  I can't believe I'm a loser! Sounds like your doing alright!! :) Just take it easy and keep on sipping

It will get easier.  I wasnt able to eat at first and I called the dietician and she said to concentrate on my proteins and liquids.  The nausea will go away. Mine lasted for about 2 days after surgery.  Just push yourself to walk for the gas and sip, sip, sip.  You are doing fine! Jenny

Jacqui, Glad things went well and that they changed you to the liquid Lortab.  I love the EAS protein shakes, in fact I still keep them around for when I want something different.  For me they are great on the go supplements from time to time.

Enjoyed the visit Saturday and the lap around the floor, hope I didn't stay too long, was great to meet Troy.  Keep in touch.
