I am10 days out from surgery and I have lost 13 lbs., but I lost that 13 pounds the first 5 days after surgery. I feel like I have stalled. Has anyone else done this???

Your body is most likely adjusting already. I would bet your still losing inches if you check. I lost 30 lbs in my first week post op and then nothing for a couple weeks then 12 lbs one week and nothing etc... Everyone has plateaus though. Some earlier then others. My first was at around 12-14 days out.

I guess I am getting discouraged after seing others on here losing 20 and 30 lbs. their first few weeks and then here I am only losing 13!!  Maybe I am expecting too much??

Everyone loses at different rates.  You are well within the normal range.  You will hit stalls along the way and they will last from a few days to a few weeks.  The first one is between 2-4 weeks out.  The next big one will hit about 8-12 weeks out, then usually again at 5-6 months.  Don't be discouraged.  It happens to almost all of us.  Your body is just playing catch up.  Usually it is during these stalls that you will notice your clothes are getting too big.   Someone should write a list of these things that take us all by surprise.  After just a few weeks on the board you will see this concern posted by every new post-op.   You are perfectly normal.  Keep your chin up and know that this is a long process.  The best thing you can do is have someone hide your scale and only let you have it once a month. Bathroom scales are possessed by the devil.  Why else would they say such nasty things to us? Face it, you'd be nasty too if you sat on the bathroom floor surrounded by stink and had wet towels dropped on top of you.

You're doing fine. I know. Sometimes we need a little reassurance. Everyone loses at their own rate. I lost pretty steadily, but it was more like 0.5 to 1 pound per day. You kicked butt in the first five days, and it will pick up again!

I didn't start losing weight after surgery until about a week after.... just remember that your body went through an awful trauma and is trying ot heal AND get energy all at the same time... it will speed up but this is completely normal... Frustrating we know, but normal...

Take care
