I will pray for your weekend.  I am very involved in the Evansville District Walk to Emmaus and I bake cookies for the Kairos weekends at Branchville Correctional Facility.  God bless you for being a part of the weekend.  You will be blessed for it.  I've heard the weekends are so amazing.  Walls are broken down and tons of forgiveness and healing take place.   I will pray the Lord uses you in a mighty way. I'd love to sit down with you sometime and chat for a few hours.  I think we have a lot in common.

Have a great weekend!  Go Jesus!

Amen. Yes 3 day movements change lives.   Giving a homemade cookie to someone who has not been given anything for free in prison is such a powerful example of God's love.  The offenders just can't believe a person outside would take time to bake cookies for them. Imagine a 3 day movement put on by offenders inside a correctional facility! WOW!  That is the goal to get enough people inside to start inside weekends.   Praise God.

My prayers go with you this week end. That is such a wonderful ministry. I am sure that many lives will be changed.

I know that He changes lives. I am very active in church and I am a lay speaker also. I am living proof that He changes lives and hearts. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have Him in my life everyday. It is through Him that I am the person that I am. One of the mottos of my life is "If He brings you to it, He will get you through it." and He gets me through a lot of things. Some good and some not so good. I have to always remember that without Him I am nothing and could do nothing. Bless you for the work that you do in His name. You will be richly rewarded.

Dear E, I will definitely keep the Kairos weekend in my prayers.  I, too, have been involved with a three-day spiritual retreat, Journey Through Faith.  My husband and I first went back in 1989 and we have participated by working on a team every year since then.  In fact, we were even Lay Directors in 2004.   I have also participated by serving on a Great Banquet team and have gone to some events for the Walk to Emmaus.  We have folks in our church who have been through Emmaus, Great Banquet, and Journey.  It is nice to have such a wonderful, life-changing shared experience with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Blessings, Donna

Thank You Donna. My brothers in Christ that have been through and worked Great Banquets tell me Kairos is like the banquet on steroids.  The stories and examples of changed lives are wonderful.  The former offenders who now work Kairos outside show that it is wrong to think "All offenders get God inside but loose Him when Outside" I weep tears of joy easily when people can express the change and more importantly show "Fruits of the Spirit" TGBTG E

My prayer are with you and every one else that is there ministry to these offenders.  God will touch many lifes this weekend.  I know a man that teaches at Pendleton, if he starts talking before he says prayer, the offenders will stop him and tell him that we need to pray.  I interviewed this instructor for a paper that I had to do for one of my criminal justice classes.  I also had him as an instructor and he is very patient about God, during the interview I cried right along with him.
