Jury DUTY??!!!

Has anyone here had a summons for jury duty in the past few months??  I was told noone is exempt, and even if you ahve a kid, you are to show up and tell the judge.  I have one!!  I emailed the guy who handles this crap..and told him this: I have a 6 yr old son who HAS to be at school NO sooner than 840, which If I bring him with me he will be late, ad I will miss work.  I now you guys give excuses for work, but I have missed a total of 6 days since i started and was told I couldnt miss any more no matter what it was for..unless it was surgery or hospital.  I am a single mom, work and go to school.  I get 36-46 a week in CS and 150-175 every other week from work.  I have post tramtic stress and mild depression which i have zolft with but ran out.  I was told by a few at work..if I miss work, i will be fired, no matter if i have a excuse or not..they will fine a way to fire me.  I need my job!!  I also dont think the judge would want a 6 yr old in his court as he is hyper and active.  I have noone to watch him.  I have to be at his daycare BY 6pm.  If im not..there wont me anyone who canget him.  I also believe in guilty till proven inocent.  Thank you I can not go!! there is no way!! even on the first day...i cant.  plus with my poss surgery......

Take your Jury Duty Summons to work, and show it to your boss. BY LAW, they cannot fire you.........No Way, No How!!!  If they do, your employer can be held in contempt of court, and will be fined!  Remind them of this if they start to give you any crap over it.  Also, if they do, notify the court director, and let them know of the comments at work, and they will take care of it also. As far as your child........talk to your daycare provider. Explain to them the jury duty.....let them know you aren't able to get out of it, and see if they will work with you on that......most of the time, daycares will understand and make better arrangements to assist you in that situation. I hope things work out well. I have only been called once, and I knew both the parties involved, so I got out of the jury duty on those grounds.  Hope this helps some!

they wont work.  They are only open till 6pm.  He has school till 3.  then I get off work at 4.  plus I ahve RVR which I can ONLY let him go there for 15 hours a week.  If its more I pay..and I cant afford it.  As for work..they have fired people who had jury duty..and said it was becasue of something else..when it was for jury.  there is just no way I can go..unless they want a 6 yr old in there lol.  Ive thought about how I could do this..but I cant.  Plus..i think people are guilty till proven inocent.  I looked at the site..where I got this guys email addy..and it says if your millitary, or in school..you are excempt.  SOOO..

I don't think you're exempt from jury duty as a student. I wasn't. I would go, because otherwise you could end up in trouble. If you don't want to do it, one sure fire way to get out is to straight out say you can't be impartial. That happened with one lady in my jury duty experience. Likelihood is you'd be out of there pretty quickly with no further obligation. 

i said that I feel people are gulity untilprven inoccent...and its kinda true..to some degree If I ahve to go the first day, I will have to take my son.  He will be late for school..and I can not miss school becasue of the type of class I have.

Do you have any heart problems .I sent them telling I had heart problems and they wrote me back excusing me

HBP lol.  I told him in the emial I sent that i have PTSD and if I have alot of stress it will trigger that and cause me to have sever migrians.  I havnt heard from him yet sooo..I did talk to a lady today and she said that chances are i wont be picked.  EDIT I got a responce to my email to this jury guy.  HE said I could mail him a copy of my classes sinc eim in school.  I emailed him a copy from the school site and im going to mail hima copy tommorow.
