DENIED!!!!!!!

     Well I just spoke to the insurance and they told me that I was DENIED because I didn't have 6 consecutive months of supervised diet and dr supervision. I am so PISSED OFF!!!!!!  Now I know what I have to do to get approved but it's just so depressing getting that word said to you that you dread DENIED!!! But I feel alittle better now that I talked to my surgeon's office. I just wi**** had gone the other way and I would be haveing my surgery in less then 2 weeks. Oh well I'll just have to keep fighting to get this done.  Thank's for listening.

Make sure you get it in writing from teh insurance company that that's all they need so when you have it you can submit a copy of that letter with your dr's weight loss information and they can't deny you for something else .... get my drift!!!

WIth the insurance company that i had i had a particular nurse in charge of my request... I called her when I was denied and asked her for a letter stating exactly what I needed to do to get approved and had her fax it to me... also the time frame that i had to do that in to file an appeal instead of refiling my request... which will make it go faster... also ask them exactly what they need documented from your dr in the appointments..> mine had to had a synapsis of what we discussed, what diet he had me on, my weight and my physical activity plan... i made a spread sheet with those things listed on it and had my dr fill it out every time i went

OMG gal!  I am sooooooo sorry...but like Jessyca said...get the insurance company to send u a letter stating what is needed to get approved...once that is done they can't deny! hugggggggggs, Janene will call you in a few

I'm sorry to hear this!!! Keep your head up and follow the others advice! (( hugs ))  Look on the bright side if you have a max out of pocket it'll be met early in the year next year when you have your surgery..

Oh, Julie, I am sorry to hear of this trouble you are having right now. Hopefully you will be able to get the drs office to get exactly what you need. This is only a setback.......you will have everything done soon enough, and you will be abel to have wls then. Hang in there.

     Thank's to everyone for your concern and comforting words. I have an Update on the this situation. I talked to the insurance again and to my surgeon's office. The insurance is being a bear and they are just being stupid i found out that they have the 6 month's consecutive and they just didn't want to read the paperwork. My letter was 7 page's long. So that may be why I got denied they didn't read enough of my paperwork. I'm not worried. I was a little upset earlier but am okay now. Now I am just Mad as H_ll  now. They don't know what they just got themselves into a mess.  Anyways everything I know will work out in time. I should have my surgery at the end or middle of November.

OMG, Julie I am so sorry that you have to wait some more. I know that when the doctor's office sent my info into the insurance I waited about 3 weeks and then got a paper back that said that I needed several other papers. I called the doctors office she told me that she sent in so many papers that they just didn't read them all. There was a paper that I had to sign and she forgot all about it so she got it to me and then she sent it all in and in a couple more weeks the approval came. Do you know that a couple of days before my surgery I got another paper from the insurance company telling me that they needed the same papers again. Sometimes I wonder about insurance companies! Keep your chin up and it won't be long before your date is here.

I'm glad you are feeling better. Don't worry, everything will work out. I think that being a pain is part of the insurance's job. It must be a requirement. But I'm sure it'll all work out in the end! Keep your head up!
