I need some recommendations for a friend who has lost a lot of weight and is wanting to get rid of her bat wings.  She saw a PS surgeon locally who wasn't very knowledgeable about this type of surgery and therefore wasn't very encouraging.  Can you give me some names you would recommend please?  Also does anyone know approximate prices for this procedure?  Has anyone heard of insurance paying for this?  Thanks everyone for your help. I think most insurance WILL NOT pay for it, unless it is deemed medically necessary.  Such as the belly overhang causing rashes or sores and things like that.   It has to be documented well and your PCP recommend it done for medical reasons.  Otherwise, you pretty much are on your own paying for it.  That is what I have read anyways.

Peg, Many of us have recent experience with Dr. Bergman/Dr. Grasse and feel that these two ladies are God-sent! I just had a full tummy tuck & thigh lift with Dr. Bergman on Sept 25 and she did terrific. This spring, I'm planning on going back to have my breast & arms done. Their office charges ~$4,000 per procedure with a discount on a 2nd procedure if you have them done at the same time. They'll give you an estimate at the consult that includes their fees, and all associated fees (ie surgery center). Everything is very upfront with no hidden costs. I really doubt insurance would cover anything but they would probably try to get the insurance to cover part of the consult fee. They did mine but part of my procedures (panni) was covered by insurance. I had went to another PS for a consult and her whole attitude didn't fly well with me at all. I had heard negative things about many of the other ones (including Dr. Jones) when it comes to attitude toward weight loss people mainly. I heard some negatives about the quality of work (Dr. Zollman). Dr. Bergman & Dr. Grasse are the only two that I never heard a single negative thing about. I can well see why!  Sherri
