Hi Everyone, It has been a few days since I've been able to be on here so I'm sure I have missed some important news/events/newbies/ surgeries and posts. My Sil had surgery on Wed. and they found ovarian cancer has spred to her right lung as well. We have been spending time with the family, and Karen. She will be in the hospital for a few more days then home and see her cancer Dr. next week. We don't know what type of chempo they will do now that they found this. I've been taking Amy to the drs. /hospital every other day for monitering or appts. & the Dr. said she won't be going over 2 more weeks- if she goes that long. She is swelling and gained 7# this week-they are watching for any signs of preclasmpsia or b.p. troubles. We found a few preemie sleepers for them the other day, and they did get a baby bed from Tony's parents-- so other than diapers, formula & wipes, they are set.   We are going to Jax birthday party this Sunday in Indy. He is having it with his cousin so it will be alot of kids & fun- he is getting a pinata -oh boy!!!!!!! Welcome to all the newbies pre-opts and post-ops- I wish you all the best as you journey to a healthy you!!!! You can do it, just use the tools and do what the dieticians tell you- sip, get in your fluids/protien/walk. and follow their guidence- it does work, and you will be well! My 2 yr. surgerversery is coming up on the 25th, as well as Drs. appt./dieticians appt. Gosh, the year has flown by!!! other than my "stitches blip" it has been a tremendous journey to wellness for me. I am off 14 meds. now ,and keeping off 125# for nearly a yr. I no longer walk with a cane, wear a 24-26(stretched out!) and feel "SICK" all the time- I can even out walk my daughters!! I never thought they'd say" slow down Mom!!" I hope to see everyone a the next clothing exchange!! Lets all go and have fun, fellowship, and share reciepes/bari friendly food! I apologize for saying Sherri was co-hosting, shes in no shape right now to do it. So,we will have to bring some "sf.goodies" to share with her! Hopefully by then I'll have photos of the babies to share! Gotta go get ready to go to the hospital, so have a great  fall day~ it is my favorite time of year! Anyone have any good pumpkin reciepes??My bellybutton birthday is Oct. 30th, & my surgerversary day is the 25th, so I love anything pumpkin!!! i need some new ones! (((((hugs))))) Ellen

Ellen, Check the recipes I sent to you awhile back.  There should be several pumpkin recipes including a ginger pumpkin dip for fruit, pumpkin-apple butter (very easy to make) and a pumpkin ricotta mousse.  Let me know if you like them.

Good Morning Everyone, I have a full schedule going on this weekend. Matt's family from out of state is coming in to see Q. But we also have our regular activities going on on top of it. Matt's got volleyball practice Saturday morning. Car needs a tune up desperately (cuts out while we drive, OH NO!). Sunday we have my sister and brother and sister in law coming in with Matt's family leaving. Gage's got swimming practice and then Matt and Gage have bowling. Wow - a lot going on!!!!. Meanwhile Q and I are chillin out for the day.

Good Mornin' my Indiana Posse!  ONE WEEK post surgery and I FEEL GRRRRRRRRREAT!!!!!!!! I got in ALL my liquids yesterday and probably today will get all the proteins in! I am just sooooooo HAPPY and BLESSED!!!  Newbies and soon to be surgeries....best advice I can give is ... DO EXACTLY WHAT THE DOC AND NUTRITIONISTS TELL YOU TO DO...DO NOT EAT ANYTHING YOU SHOULDN'T....AND DRINK THOSE LIQUIDS CONSTANTLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY.....AND GET THAT PROTEIN IN!

I sure hope y'all have wonderful weekends....I am probably gonna still be home...not getting out too much...MIGHT try to walk around our little Wal-Mart.  I need a few greeting cards and some junk food for the teenagers ( I have 1 son at home and in the afternoons after school I have 5!) All of them ready for drinks and snacks!  lol Thats what I get for living so close to school...its on everyone's way home!

Lord, keep me in your will so I won't be in your way.

Try this again... I decided that I'm going to listen to my body as much as possible and if says 'sleep', I'm not going to fight it. So..went to sleep aroound midnight last night, up at 5:30, sleep again by 7, then up about 11. The way I feel right now, there's definately another nap or two in me today. Maybe my body is trying to catch up from the lack of sleep in the hospital (does anyone ever get more than 2 hours of sleep at a time in a hospital???). Sorry I missed most of you in the chat last night. I didn't get on until later but I was able to have a nice chat with LaChelle. I am really looking forward to meeting her someday! I was able to get on with my laptop so that made it nice. I love my pc (where I'm at now) but my stitching isnt' crasy over me sitting up right at my desk like this. They much prefer to be in the recliner with the laptop. I'll try to get on tonight and see if anyone's in the chatroom. I hope everyone has a good day & good weekend planned.  Sherri
