Need ideas for getting my protein in...

I'm on solid foods and eating as much protein as possible but I don't think I'm even getting half of what I'm supposed to because I still cant get more then an ounce or two in at a time. I have a very sensitive and grouchy pouch and I cannot tolerate any of the drinks I've tried (muscle milk, carbwise, isopure) soo I don't know what else to do. I am almost 9 weeks out and losing hair like crazy and I know I'm losin muscle. I've not been able to get and keep my vitamins in for 2 days now which is making me feel worse. My docs office is aware of this and they just tell me to keep trying and sooo thats what I'm doing but I feel like crap!!! I've tried milk/carnation instant breakfast and can get 1 in but I HATE the taste of chocolate and thats the only flavor we can find. Sooo any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't want to spend 30 bucks at GNC for something I can't tolerate so I don't wanna buy a big can of anything.  I can't handle most cheeses now for some reason especially cottage cheese.

I am so sorry that things are so bad for you. I wish that I could help but I am not sure what to do either. I do know that my doctors nurse to me that a lot of people can't tolerate Isopure after the surgery, even if they could before. I would be VERY persistent with the doctors office and let them know that you are feeling so badly. I would make them give me an appointment and if they didn't I would let them know that I would become their worst nightmare! Remember the squeaky wheel gets the oil. I hope that you start to feel better soon.

I buy whey protein at wal mart... it's 11.00 a can... and then i get lactose free milk (my pouch doen'st like milk) and put two scoops of protein powder in it with sugar free jello or pudding to flavor it... i like lemon jello sf with the milk it tastes like a lemon shake and i put some ice in it when i blend it to keep it cold and i sip on that all day it has 54 grams of protein in it... that's more than half for the day and it's only about 11 oz

Talk to the dieticians. They had samples last time I was there, so I could try things. Just an idea.

Misty, Last night at dinner, Annette suggested pouring Isopure over crushed ice.  It makes it more like a sno-cone, I guess.  Some flavors are better than others too. Floyd

You are giving a good example as to WHY NO ONE should stock up on protein powder before the surgery.  Things can and usually are different. I use and used www.unjury.com that was recommended by the NUT at St. V's.  They have a unflavored that can be put into anything you can get down and a chicken flavor that I use for the instant potato. There is trial pack size in the web site give it a try. E

I am considering purchasing my protein powder from unjury. I was wondering on a couple things........if I order it online, approx. how long does it take to ship? Is this site the only place you can purchase unjury protein? If not, where are other places? Also, is this like the same protein powder that you can get at GNC? And does GNC carry unflavored protein? There is a GNC shop not too far from me, and I would be able to save the S&H if that were the case. Thanks

If in stock it is very quick.  Remember this is medical grade protein.   Some of the health food or WalMart variety I question on the quality.  It was whey protein in the animal food that caused the recall.

I use Unjury also.   For something different I like to put two scoops of Unjury vanilla with a box of Sugar free Jello Vanilla pudding and two cups of lactose free milk.  This make a great vanilla pudding with 40 grams of protein.   Unjury ships very quickly and sends you an e-mail with the tracking information as soon as it ships.
