Going home tonight!!

The respritory doc came in and cleared me to go home when Tiff can come get me...which won't be until about 8 tonight. I'm waiting to have my IV pulled, then (yeah!) have a BM, take a shower, get iced up for 30 minutes, then back into that compression garment...so...got half the day planned anyway! LOL! The doc did say that it'd be ok for me to go down to the bariatric floor to say hi to folks...so...who's there???? I'll be checking back probably around 2-3 to find out. I hope to be back to my usual self on here, at home, tomorrow!! Woo-hoo! love you all! Sherri ps...E...I could go for some of that gizzard soup anytime!!

That's the best news I've heard all day!!!  We were planning a trip to see you tonight but we'll hold off and come see you at home later this week.  I was going to sneek you in some contiban since the food wasn't to your liking.  Glad to hear you are doing better.  Stay on that road please.  Get up and get moving and breathe deep. Brenda, Oh how I would have loved to have a sugar-free _____. You fill in the blank! I think I'm going through SF popcycle withdrawals! Now, if I had wanted a 500 cal dessert, I could had gotten that with NO problem! LOL! By the 2nd day, the dietary group really improved on delivering what I asked for...but not entirely sure if it was my good education (haha..really doubt this!) or my persistence (I would bet this is it...and I'm sure they didn't have such a positive word in mind when they thought of the patient in 332..lol). As long as I can keep the coughing at bay, I have had no problem getting my laps in. I've done about 40 today so far. And of course, that has really helped with the gas issues as well. I'm about to put MY pj's on and go down to the 2nd floor to see if there are any newbie's there that wouldn't mind me stopping by for a Oh..could you order me some more beef sticks (2 boxes)? The liquid antibiotic I'm on is HORRIBLE and it is the only thing that has been strong enough in flavor to cut the of the med. I don't mind too much...it's a good excuse to up my protein more..lol. Sweety,  This is the best news I've had in days!!!! I have talked to both Bill & Tiff, & they have said you are more than ready to go home.  Just be sure to do whatever they say and you'll be back to your bubbly self in no time!!!! I had hoped to come to see you on Wed. but it looks like we will be at the hospital with tests again for Amy, so I'll be down as soon as I can. These babies are getting ready to go & the  "womb at the inn" is getting smaller- so it shouldn't be long before they are here-then the real "fun" begins!. Ellen, Hon, I am so glad that those babies are close to coming!! I know that will decrease your stress immensly. Tiffany felt bad about not calling you back last night. That poor kid has just been run ragged especially with running up here each day. She felt better when I let her know I could get online last night. The computer I'm on is right down the hall from where I am (3 floor) and out in the hall. No one uses it at night but during the weekday, I've been having to take turns with those actually doing work here....lol! Since I've gotten my breath back, my mouth hasn't shut up I don't think...although, my voice is gone. I think it gave me laringitis since the volume just isn't there. And trust me, I'm feisty too. The breathing TECH told me this morning to grab a pillow to my stomach and give a great big cough. He got highly PO'ed when I refused. A little tickle put me in bed all day yesterday with the pain and my breathing out of control..and he thinks I'm going to try to purposely do a deep big cough???? That man was nuts! Then he started on a lecture how I was going to end up on a life support breathing machine because I won't do what everyone tells me to do. I don't him that I have drank all the ice water & hot tea I was told to drink, I have walked every lap I could walk, I laid on my right side as much as I could to assist the left lung, I have done everything everyone has told me to do..and NO ONE except him had ever even suggested me trying to cough! He said 'well, I'm going to put that you're uncooperative'. I told him to put what ever in the hell he wants to. I doubt he was off our floor by the time my nurse knew what happened. Within an hour, the respritory specialist knew..and knew that if I needed anymore breathing treatments, do NOT send him! I didn't...come to find out, my lungs are clear right now so a cough would have only accomplished one thing....cause me intense pain. I hope he got wrote up for how he talked to me! I know my nurse is anxious for him to show his face back on her wing. Well..time for my pj's and then I'm going to wander down to the 2nd floor. I hope there is some names I recognize! Give me a call tomorrow...ok? AT HOME! Gee..doesn't that sound good??? Oh guess what? I have developed a few new allergies/sensitivities. The percoset made me itch all over (no hives or rash, thank God!) and the steri-strips have caused some blisters in about 7" of the 5' of incisions...but not in the rest. Leave it to me...wierd! LOL! Sherri,  It is a good thing I didn't come up- cause I'd haver kicked his butt for you! Well, really I'd just told him get out, like you did! Thank goodness you have a caring nurse. You know what a problem I have with tape- so it sounds like you are taking after me- more than one way!!! Hee~hee-told ya we are 'Sisters"!!!!!  (I had a corterization on my drain tube area on Mon. - it has been 7 weeks since my surgery, and I still am draining like crazy! Plus I ran out of the tape she gave me, so my belly is all a mess again!She fixed me up, so hopefully this time it will work.) So glad you are going home girl, and please let Tiff know I DO understand- she is one busy gal!!!     I told her how much I appreciated her and what a great daughter I think she is!!!!! I'll talk to you soon girl- and you can grunt- just don't use your voice so it can heal, too!!! (((hugs))) Ellen
