Does anyone have any idea how many calories I should be getting?? the docs office told me to eat off of the 3 month plan which has people getting 4 oz of food at each sitting and a snack.. I cannot eat more then 2 oz at a sitting and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be counting. I've had 2 meals today so far and only have gotten in about 208 calories according to fitday and I know I need more then that. So I'm thinking I probally need to do a tube feed but I just don't know. I was told to eat as much as I can and I dont have to tube feed when I can eat but I think theyre expecting me to be getting the 4 oz in and it's not happening. I'm 8 weeks 3 days out today.  The reason they want me on the 3 month plan is it allows more food for me. For breakfast I had a teaspoon of hard boiled egg (we went to a buffett and I got this off of the salad area), 2 very small peices of salad chicken strips, 2 peices of green beans (this was at 10:30) The amount of food was no more then 2 oz I could have easily fit it in all in my condiment cup. For lunch I had about 1 oz of tuna and 3 saltine crackers...  I know I'm not eating enough to get/keep my metabolism going but I dont know how much I should be eating.

Eat only what you can.  You won't starve.  i weighed 341 lbs and ate 2 oz of food by volume for 8 weeks and was fine.  Keep drinking, water, and walking.  You will make it. What the saying "Go with the flow" don't over think it. E.

Good morning.  I am currently about 7 1/2 months out and I have lost 117 pounds.  I too had a hard time at first eating very much.  I pretty much had no appetite and never felt like eating much.  The main thing is to concentrate on  the quality of what you ARE eating and don't worry about calories.  You need to get in your protien and your vitamins. (and calcium if you don't do a lot of dairy.)  There were mornings where I hated to swallow 2 vitamins...but you have to do it!  You are now a part of what is the most important experiment of your life.  You need to find out what you can and can't eat and try to find foods that are rich in protien. I get a lot of my protien from milk and dairy product.  Milk is good because you can drink it slowly and rack up your grams of protien pretty quick.  At 8 weeks you need to remember to take things slowly and don't overdo it.  It is better to do a small amount several times a day that try to do too much at a time.  Also, the salad bar is good, but some of that stuff may have preservatives on that may not sit well with your stomach, so be careful.  Don't be afraid to talk to your nutritionist...they are excellent resources.  I hope this helps you and I wish you good luck
