I'm home...

There was a negotiated in network fee but they still got paid $20,775.00! Kind of amazing in how the total self pay for what I had was going to be just shy of $12,000 if I had to pay it all myself.  that included the Dr., facility and all....I am not complaining of the Dr's fee as she is well worth it and was very reasonable but for the facility to charge that much more seems very excessive to me!  I work for the insurance company that I am covered under and it really gripes me to see it abused. Tha gal at the surgery center said that they let Dr. B use their facility as a courteousy for "cosmetic" surgeries but the medical necessary ones...get charged all kinds of extra fees. She said that it is not fair to try to compare fees on our surgeries even if we think we all had about the same procedure. Oh come one now......they can't be that much difference. They feel that they can just rack up revenue on the insurance side and as long as we don't pay it out of our pockets it is ok...well it goes against my lifetime maximim and raises the specs for the entire group usage and it is unfair to all. Sorry ya all for venting but I just don't like to see the insurance companies get soaked. With this type of abuse going on it makes it even harder for many to get qualified for surgeries as the cost has skyrocketed. No wonder so many insurances don't want to cover the skin removal that really is necessary for many after the weight loss.  Hugs! Marianne

Hi sweetie,  I didn't get you message on my phone---yet!  Bill probably told you I called last night, and just wanted to check on ya. I know each day you'll feel stronger & better!! I can't imagine how foxy you'll look/feel after all the swelling/etc. is over and you get into new sizes.Woo-hoo smokin hottie Skinny jeans, here she comes!!! Iknow how hard it was-4 getting those rubber girdles off when I was 3-4xxx, so can only imagine what you are going thru-yikes!!!! Hopefully it will be only a few weeks and you'll be out of that "contraption". (If I remember right, Carmen had hers on for 5 weeks, it helps with the swelling and firming, also.) Can you call your Dr. and see if there is another type that has the right opening???Just a thought! I "ll try to come by next week and see ya- with all of the scans/monitors/etc. going on with the babies ( looks like 1 1/2 -2 weeks) I am running all over taking Amy around now. Just know I'm praying for you and am here for you!!!! Sending Bill & Tiff a ((((((((((((((BIG HUG))))))))))))))) from me. (Tiff even sounds like you on the phone!) Love ya, (((((hugs))))) Ellen

Sherri, So awaesome to see you home!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess what? Still pregnant! STILL! See the OB next Wednesday to set up a C-Section date between then (the 3rd) and Saturday the 6th. Matt said he has you on the call list and will call your cell ASAP as soon as Quinntin is out. Cant wait to see how you look after you are able to get up and around comfortably. Gosh all of you having plastics is making me jealous as heck. I just got this new house and I'm already trying to find out how to refinance it to get mine done, hahaha! Matt has assured me though that he'll make sure I'll get my tummy tuck and lift done before we get married next year or at least have the money ready as a wedding present to me. But I'm so glad you are home and everything is going semi smooth for you (minus the bm solution, hahaha). Jodi
