Muncie Support Group

I just thought of something.   I had originally started this process in Muncie at the bariatric center, but then the doc decided he wasnt going to do the RNY anymore so that is when I switched to Dr. Gupta. Anyway,  I called the Muncie bariatric center to see if anyone could attend the support groups there and she said that anyone could.  So if you are closer to Muncie the support group meets the 4th Tuesday of every month at 6:00pm.  If you need to know directions, email me.  Just thought I would pass on that info to anyone that may want to go to that support group. I guess maybe I am too strict.  I see value in attending the support group that is sponsored by your surgeon.  I have found all surgeons or centers have different thoughts on what post-op should eat and use.   I have been to 1 other meeting from a different group and what they suggest was not very close to St. V's.  It is hard enough to keep with one program and then attend another and try to blend in what you like from both. It would be like being on a Low carb Atkins diet and mixing it with a High Carb High fiber diet. Just be careful.  You have put your trust in the surgeon so I would go with their program 100% their yellow sheet their food types at the differant stages. E

I figure it is better to go to a support group meeting regardless of where it is then not to go to one at all. I wouldnt have went to the St. V's support group because it is too far for me to drive and I can't get away from work to get there on time.  They told me at the nut class at St. V's that it would be fine to go to another support group, but just to follow what the St. V's nuts tell you.  So that is what I am going to do.

I agree with you Jenny, it is better to attend a support group somewhere then not at all.  Can you email me the directions to the one in Muncie.  I live in Marion IN and I can not drive all the way to St V's for a support group.  I was going to the one in Ft Wayne, but since Cheryl left, there was sometimes that the facailtor was not there.  I stopped going.  I need to get back into a group.

Have a blessed day
