Hard to tell, how old are they how long have they been practicing? Did you trust him when you went to meet him? How did you hear about him? Was he refered to you by a friend or just picked from the phone book? Linda Kay

Yes I did trust him the first time i met him. he is a very straight and forward guy. just that all the other surgeons i've seen have done alot more surgery's. maybe it's the area i live in and there just isn't alot of ppl that need the surgery.

My surgeon stats are not updated on this website so maybe your surgeon doesnt have his updated either.  Ask him how many he has done open vs lap, etc.

Also, what type of wls are you going to have? The results may be different for each type, but it is what you feel toward him that is the best guide to go by. If you feel in your heart that this dr. is the one for you, then go with him. Don't go into wls with any apprehension or wrong theories based on what is posted on the guide.  Like the others said, ask your dr. He is the best one to tell you what to believe.

Those stats are probably out of date.  I know in the 18 months I've been post op my surgeons stats have not change and I know he's been out there doing his thing.  As far what type- open vs laproscopic  it depends on previous surgeries and history, the surgeon will make that decision.        Band vs rny, that is a decision you can  research and discuss with your surgeon.  He can tell you, based on your eating habits, strenghts and weekness, which would be the best tool for you.  good luck.
