Welcome Misty! Nice to meet you! I am curious about what happened with Voc Rehab, when you tried there. I work for Voc Rehab in Terre Haute. I have actually helped one lady get RNY with Dr. Evanson in St. V. If folks are considering going that route, I could give some tips!

Hi Janene, we sure are neighbors, Wabash is about oh..25 miles or so from here.  We should try to get together sometime. Hi Linda Nice to meet you too!  I'm afraid I didn't have much luck with Voc Rehab when I went.  I went to Logansport, and they did not cover surgery at all then.  That was back in I think 2002.  I was very disappointed in them actually.  I saw their psychologist who said that I would make a great nurse (my longtime dream) if I could only lose the weight because that was all that was stopping me.  Yet, they couldn't help me with that???   They sort of pushed me into going to college, which I am semi-greatfull for.  They promised me support both physically and financially, and all I got was $100 from them for 1 semester.  but, It has made me more anxious to lose the weight but I have failed on my own and until now, havent' had luck with surgery.  But it has also, made me more depressed because I know that I can't handle being a nurse.  It takes all I can muster to get through everyday life.  And classes just drained me completely.

Hi Misty and welcome to the Indiana boards. I am getting ready to have the RNY on Oct 10 with Dr. Gupta.  She is the only doc I have met so I dont know about the others, but I really liked Dr. Gupta.  So far my experience with St. V's has been good. I had all my pre-op's yesterday and I couldnt believe how organized it was. Good luck with your journey. You will learn a lot on here. Jenny
