Even tho my surgery date has not been scheduled, I have been trying my best to loose weight now.....20 lbs. is what Dr. Shina wants me to loose before surgery. I have cut out all sugar and caffeine, but right now I am craving some potato chips that I can't stand it!  Crying 2 What else can I do but drink my water and eat my sugar free goodies??!?!?  It hasn't bothered me until today.

Put 2 paper towels on a paper plate and put 10 or 15 turkey peperoni slices on it.. cover with another paper towel and microwave for 2 1/2 minutes. I swear they are better than potato chips, are protien with sucked away fat and GOOD!! you still get the salt flavor.  TRY IT YOU"LL LIKE IT! Linda Kay

Those pepperoni chips are GREAT!! I eat them a lot and they're very satisfying... you get salt and protein... yummy... and they're crispy oh so crispy... When I get upset like that Lachelle I go for a walk... it doesn't matter what time of night.. my hubby and i get up and go... usually it's something emotional that I don't want to "realize" is bothering me, so getting out walking gets out the frustration and I get to spill my guts to the DH and usually figure out what it is that I subconsciously want to eat away. Hope you got through it

Thanks for the tips, the pepperoni chips sound good as long as they aren't NORMAL pepperoni. I can't stand that stuff! LOL My DH thinks I am so weird too for not liking pepperoni, but oh well, I am not going to be eating pizza anymore anyway! LOL I got to folding laundry, and that got me away from crazy thoughts like chips! LOL  Of course, I did get another glass of ice water with Soni**** and munched away on the crushed ice! LOL

While I don't advocate cheating, I must admit that I have done it.  Sometimes a craving is just SO strong.  I have found that when I am denied a certain item, that is all I can think about.  So I try to remember that nothing is completely off limits.  This helps me to make better choices.  If I know that I can have 2 potato chips or I can have 12 pepperoni chips, I'll opt for the pepperoni chips.  But sometimes a potato chip is my obsession.  So I allow myself to have 1 or 2.  Not the whole bag.  I eat them very slowly, taking time to really taste them.  I analyze their taste and texture.  Then I can say, "okay, that's what they taste like", then I can walk away satisfied. The only time "cheating" is not allowed is immediately before and right after surgery.  Follow your doctor's orders prior to surgery to lessen the chance of complications.  Then after surgery, remember that you have a baby pouch.  It is tender and healing.  Don't put anything in it unless your doctor says it's okay.

Best wishes.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

Good idea, Annette. I will remember that the next time I am thinking I am "dying" to have potato chips! LOL
