Just curious- what did you miss most after surgery?

I was a big diet pepsi drinker before.  I found out Dec. 5th  2005 that my surgery was going to be on Dec 14th 2005,  so I didn't do very well at getting off the diet  pepsi. I got it down to one a day.  So surgery day I had the worst headache while I waiting for surgery.  They knocked me out and I never had a headache after that.  I really never missed it, and it doesn't taste the same as before.  I drink a little now, 11/2 years out, but not much.  I miss not getting to eat birthday  cake and Ice cream with the kids. Myoldest turned 13, and for the most part I can eat just about anything now, but really small portions.  Just bites if it has a lot of sugar.  I forgot that birthday cake an Ice cream do not work for me at all.  It has been a long time since I've tried it.  Its not the cake, I can eat a little piece of cake, just without frosting.  I had a little piece with frosting, and a small cup of soft serve ice cream.   I dumped, big time.  the bypass definately still works.  This was Saturday night and my tummy is still finicky today.  Back to basics.
