So I went to see the dietician yesterday, and I can't remember how many grams of protein she told me I'd have to be getting in after surgery.  Can someone tell me? Thanks!

It depends on your surgery type...60-70 for RNY or Band and 80-100 for DS.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

Thanks.  I just wondered because she told me I wouldn't have to do, like protein mixes if I liked milk, which I do, but I also looked at the milk carton today and saw that it's only like, 8g for 8 oz.  How much milk am I gonna be drinkin'?? I mean, I love milk, that's not the problem, I just thought it would have to be an awful lot to get all my protein in.  Shhhhhhhhew!

If you add powdered milk you double the protein per serving.  Add Carnation Instant Breakfast and you add 4 more.  I cup of skim milk / powdered milk / CIB makes 20 grams per serving.  Not bad for a great start to your morning.  Then if you drink one Isopure there's another 40 grams and you are good for the day.

It is 75 grams of protein per day.  That is what I just learned in my nut class this week.
