Dr. Bergman's office submitted a request for approval back when I had my consult (July 25th). It  STILL is in deliberation to be approved or not. Does anyone have anything to do with that part of the process on here? Could you check on it for me? Contact me if you can and I'll give you whatever info you need. I've called the number on the back of the card and I'm just told it hasn't been decided yet. When I ask if there's anything I can do to help, I'm told no. I am just so surprised with this since they did so good for my RNY! Thanks in advance!! Sherri

Sherri,  I know that Anthem can be sticky with anything to do with plastic surgery. Courtney Tippy had them for insurance and also works as a claims payer for them and couldn't get approved for anything! So....I would give it a little while and see....As long as you panni hangs over enough to rest on your thighs you should get approval. On mine it got approved right away inhouse but then Danielle wanted them to quote for each procedure code so It then had to go to our outside medical examiner for a second approval and that took about a week. I know it is frustrating especially with your special day coming up so quickly :o) Trust me sweetie it is soooo worth it! I am in love with the new me! lol I am still tired and have to nap right when I get home from work but I know in a few months I will going full speed ahead! Hang in there!

HUGS! Marianne

Marianne, So far, it's been about 6 weeks. This really surprised me because I had an answer on the RNY within 2 weeks. I think Dr. Bergman just put in for the pani portion and not the thigh lift. I've had the rashes..but I'm probably more concerned about the excess skin on my thighs because when my sister was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer, the first tumors was discovered in her thigh. Shoot, I could never hope for an early diagnoses with my thighs as they are now. All I feel is skin..I think. I had wrote a cover letter to include so I'm hoping the delay isn't will they pay, but how much of the procedure(s) they'll pay for.  You know the one who works with Dr. B that has the accent (british or something???), she would call and want to know if I wanted to pay the $97 I had yet to pay or that along with what was expected for the insurance to cover.  ?????? ?????? I was to have it paid for by this Wednesday. Oh well, today I gave her my credit card info to cover the $97,  and told her to hand on to that info for just in case Anthem says no to it all and charge that to it too.  If Anthem surprises me and covers the thighs, Dr. B can apply it for my upper half this spring.  I wouldn't have been getting impatient about it if it weren't for it taking so long, that accent chic keep calling, and the date getting very close.
