Hi everyone, Thought I would shout out a quick hello and give an update! We ahve been checking on the house every few days, it is getting closer! We did receive our intent to vacate letter from the housing authorities stating that we are to be out on the 28th of September! This is exciting, however for this to happen there still is a bit to be done! The paint is on in the bedrooms and the living room, although I absolutely HATED the Living Room paint and had to go to Menards this morning and pick out a NEW color. The last color was suppose to be a sage green, BUT on the walls it looks like MINT  Chocolate without the chips- NOPE sorry can't do it! The swatch was a litlle off but they still would not replace the paint but I still had to have it changed! UUHHGG!!! The drywall is back in the kitchen and the cabinets and windows are on order. The bathroom and kitchen have to be totally replaced and the carpet still put in, but we areseeing it with some color and watching it slowly come to life and feel as if we are finally coming down the stretch!!! I want to THANK everyone again so much who haved helped and shared their thoughts/prayers/donations with my family! It has  all meant so much to us! We hope to be able to pay forward to others, just as you all have helped us! I have started a new job at my sons school and am LOVING it! I am the new Site Director for their Before/After Care program. I have over 130 children at some times and that is a little overwhelming for a minute, but it is coming together. Right now we are at the stage of learning what and what they can not get away with! They are trying Miss Dawn, but I am slowly winning the RACE!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend and is doing well on their journeys- no matter where you are at in it- it is a wonderful ride and we are on our way! Hugz Dawn

Yaaaah Dawn, So glad you are getting close to going home, That is the best news, I know its a pain to have to wait for all the repairs to be made but isnt it fun seeing it all come back together and being able to pick out the colors and stuff, its like a long awaited christmas gift finally arriving. Im so happy for you that the waiting is nearly over. Glad to hear you like your new job, I loved working with kids, they are such a hoot some times,  It seems they all try you to see how far they can push but they are so much fun most of the time. Im not sure that i could handle 130 of them.. lol you must just have the gift,,, i always say its like being a Dr. or a Nurse or a musician, its a gift,  some people have it  and some dont.,,, keep us posted on the move, dont forget pictures.. bet the house will be so pretty. Hi Dawn,  Oh, that is great news- it won't be long now before you'll be decorating your home -just the way you want it!!! I'm with you- mint green- NOT! I have had the wrong paint before & they usually are pretty good at getting it corrected.I know you are all anxious to get back into your home- how's Mark holding up?I bet he's ready to get into his own space & garage again.I bet Markie is ready for his room again-kids love to spred out in their own place.  The job sounds right up your ally- you are so good with kids. Me, my teen grandsons like to try me too much, but I have a ball with the younger ones. I'm just happy my talent lies in floral arranging & design!  Are you going to be able to join us Tues. after work, for dinner? I hope you can come!!! It will be our last get together before Sherri's plastic surgery. Keep us posted- it won't be long before you are HOME!!! (((hugs)))  Ellen

Dawn, I'm so glad everything is going so wel! It won't be long and you'll be putting your Boyd bears and M&M guys in each of their own special spots.  Congrats on the new job. I know a job you enjoy can make all the difference in the world. I definately would not be good in that position. In fact, it's why I chose the career path I did. I know that I don't have patience for people to try me 8 hr a day...big or little people...so I chose a path where I'm dealing with lab instrumentation (that has NOTHING to do with people fluids!!). Sure, it can be tempermental too, but all I have to do is take my screwdriver to it! LOL! So I think it really takes someone special to work with kids, old people, or anyone else. I do hope you guys can join us at Ryan's. It's been so long since I've seen ya girl! Sherri

Hi Dawn. It will be so nice to get back in your own house. I can't imagine having to go through all you have (plus getting your PS done).  You are a strong woman.  Paint color is so hard to pick sometimes.  It never looks the same on the walls as it does on the paint chip.  My breeze way turned out that way.  It was supposed to be sage but is closer the the mint (but not quite).  I didn't redo it becasue we plan to change the furniture in there in the next year and I think it will go to shades of blue when we do.  I painted the doors and window trim and off white color and it made the paint look not quite so minty.   I really respect people that can deal with kids.  I thought in HS I wanted to go into teaching untill I did a stint as student teacher (assitant) in my senior year.  I knew it wasn't for me.  That is when I followed a realtive in to the laboratory field also.  I like to do stuff with my hands and work independently.  I do get to work with the people (all ages) (and the blood and other bodily fluids)but it is one on one and I can work at my own pace.  I love kids, just one at a time though.
